eeyan,

not sure. I do know they are all on pre-order with Tamiya already.

What is it like for other Evo IV owners out there??? Dave?? Any ideas??

Well the EVO4 is not on the top of my list for free drive trains.. but it has something to do with the 950 bearings:rolleyes:  ... but I would have to say my Barracuda's and Pro4 are pretty free;) but a little more time with the EVO4 and it should be right up there:nod:

The kits are always evolving. There's never a final version.

now when you say "but a little more time with the EVO4 and it should be right up there" do you mean as time goes by and you use the car more the drivetrain will get looser:confused: OR are you planning on upgrading the bearings:sneaky:

Also, when you blow on the spur gear, does the drivetrain move on your car??

I think I might have chipped the bearings in a hit because I did have a shim like piece of metal on my front right universal shaft. I'm not 100% sure but it could just have been the shield.

would countersinking the top deck cure this?

i was thinking of placing a "T" brace in the centre found on the SD. Tech Racing has produced this similar chassis for the Evo III and its pretty stiff.

hopefully with this it'll lower the chances of chassis tweak

The Black Kat 08-03-2004 11:53 AM

Where can I get some Tech Racing stuff?

you can get the chassis overseas at R10 or RCchamps. just a word of warning. the chassis is only made for a shorter wheelbase. you can not adjust the wheebase at all.

oh yeah, if are looking into getting it. you will need to get from them shorter front/rear hinge pins for your A-arms.

The Bearings were changed out even before I bought the EVO4   Squat GOLD!!!:sneaky:  very free spinning:D..but the weak link is still the 950 bearings:cry:..still have not found a maker that makes good bearings in this size yet:rolleyes:

I would inspect the bearings in the hubs:nod: they are "VERY" prone to failure due to the small size:rolleyes:
