Took my evo iv apart for the first time tonight to give it a full clean etc, now when putting the spur gear and those bits together ive got a little confused, ive taken a picture, here it would make sense to me to have two bearings riding in the bulkheads like it does at the front, the manual shows 1 and i only have 1 bearing. Should it go on the inside or the outside of the bulkhead, see image attached.

id say where u have it is the correct way, look for signs of wear on the bulheads top and bottom.

Turbonium 04-19-2005 02:25 PM

that should be correct... the other end of the shaft is supported by the spur mount, thats why it only has one in the back...

It is definitely correct.

Can you add another 950 bearing in the front as well? like would it make any improvements? as the front diff input shaft has 2 bearings supported

hawker 04-20-2005 02:20 AM

it won't stay there as there is nothing to stop it vibrating forwards.

it doesn't really need it anyway

How much did they change on the EVO IV MS kit vs the stock EVO IV?

so about 110$ for a MS upgrade.... any tamiya dealer should be able to order these spare parts:nod:
-Dave:sneaky:

I think thats all that is different, maybe alloy input cups as well but i cant be sure....

Edit: Speedtechs site has it listed.
Hop-ups:

Graphite bumper brace
Blue aluminum FL coated shocks
Blue aluminum shock collars
Blue aluminum rear hub carrier
Blue aluminum ball studs throughout
Blue aluminum pillow balls
Front and rear aluminum center drive cups
Light weight aluminum center shaft
Blue light weight aluminum turnbuckles through out
Low Friction ball cups
possibly the light weight front and rear input shaft are included as well

New hop-up: "Y" center post. This piece mounts to one point on the lower deck, but mounts to two points on the upper deck. Much more specs to be announced soon.

For those interested Tamiya America has a new released a hop-up part.

RC Pro Module Rear Suspension set:

part #1004

MSRP: $89.99

TCS legal!

:D

RCGaryK 04-27-2005 05:36 PM

Interesting that it's marketed as a Tamiya America part, not just Tamiya.... I wonder what chassis' this upgrade will be legal for...

BTW, I have a NIB unassembled Evo 4 I am selling. Includes 2 sets of mounted A's and the clear gearbox covers. PM if interested.
