Great, more parts that I need to get for my Evo! Anyone know what the difference in handling is between this, and the LW setup?

yep;) very little slop with this system. I have seen some impressive lap times at Tamiya America using this system in both 19t and Mod...

BTW, I have a NIB unassembled Evo 4 I am selling. Includes 2 sets of mounted A's and the clear gearbox covers. PM if interested.

The header card lists the 415 and EVO4

RCGaryK 04-27-2005 08:44 PM

Yeah, and the SS arms only said for the 04, what's yer point?

karndriver 04-28-2005 05:07 AM

are you sure this is a production item? these arms appeared on david jun's 415 quite some time ago as a prototype if i remember correctly

gtypecanare 04-28-2005 09:08 AM

Yes, they are a Tamiya America production item. The prototype arms were seen on his EvoIV and recently he has been testing them on a 415.

Do you know what bearing size for the wheelaxle this new suspension is using?

rtypec 04-28-2005 01:58 PM

5x9 mm :tire:

Thanks rtypec
But again this small bearings. :(

rtypec 04-28-2005 02:04 PM

Yeah, the small bearing thing...beats me. However, I am glad to say that I haven't blown one up since December hehe.

What brand/typ do you use? I think no Tamiya bearings.

It's a pretty snug fit. If anything, you'll only need a 0.1mm shim. The production arms and hub carriers have no slop. If you find that they bind just a hair, take a pass or two at it with fine grit sandpaper...that's it. Nice tolerances. The prototypes had shims everywhere hehe.

tamiyarcracer 04-28-2005 05:36 PM

Rod do you remember when David Jun used the adapters for his 1150 bearings to convert them to 850 bearings? He really liked the saller bearings cause it made for a bunch less unsprung weight. But that was the challenge, blowing them up all the time.
