Selling my NIB Evo IV setup..check it out!
|
Can someone clear this up for me?
A standard EVO4 is 2.294:1 drive ratio. One of ours is standard. The other has EVO3 lightweight diffs in it.
I have been told that this affects the ratio but don't know which way, or what it ends up at. |
if evo 3 diff gears can be fitted on the evo 4 that i woul assume that the ratio would be the same of an evo 3 which is 2.6
|
the diff gear itself os the same tooth count.. the difference is the small crown gear. if you have that in, it is still the 2.29. the III crown gear doesnt fit the IV, as far as i can tell...
there is 1 tooth # different in the crowns... |

HMMM the battery bar supplied by tamiya is really useless.I custom made a battery bar out of 2mm cf, a 2.5 mm countersunk top deck, home made al 7075 battery bar posts and a home made woven carbon fiber shaft also modified steering arms to allow 26mm foam tires and lastly a custom 4mm front shock tower. Pls tell me what do you think. The carbon shaft is extremely light and very rigid have been testing it using a brushless motor also if anyone is wondering what brushless esc is on the car its actually a modified one resoldiered to save space and upgraded with a 3300 cap.O yes in case any one is wondering the second cell from the front has vented thus the colour.

It's been awhile since I last visited this thread and there were a lot of posts to read but I just have to tell everyone how much fun I'm having w/ my Evo 4.
I finally finished it and raced it for the 1st time on carpet 2 weeks ago. A big snowstorm kept me from getting any practice in that weekend and I had only run 2 packs thru the car before the 1st qual. However the car was very friendly to drive and I had no trouble keeping up w/ the guys I normally run with. This past Sun. I raced it for the 2nd time after having practiced during the week. This race was probably my best performance all winter if not ever, as I just missed putting the car in the A-main and led the B-main wire-to-wire winning by 5 sec. despite having to be marshalled once 3 laps from the end. I have only raced this car for 2 weeks and I'm already faster than I was w/ my XXX-S which I raced for 2 years. I'm not saying that the Losi is a bad car, just that the Evo seems to work w/ my driving style a lot better. My local track (Larry's Performance R/C's) is hosting the indoor state champs later this month.....I can't wait. |
