Hi Dave. I heard about your Friday night. Recover yet? I built my car Saturday and went to South Shore with Miller on Sunday. If it rains I will be there again this Sunday, if no rain, it's 1.8th for me. South Shore talked about started the SUnday program near the end of October. See you soon.

Startup question: Guys, some of us at the local track are think of going 1/12. Suggestions for which kit. We will all be green at this but one who ran 1/12 5 years ago. None of us have kits. Track is carpet oval now with a banked transistion into the TC area. New track, will be flat ozite We are talking 6 cell stock.
I run an X-Ray now on the track and do pretty well. Just looking to try something different this winter.
I too have a T1 and when I was having problems with my electronics I had nowhere to turn to but the CRC Carpet Knife 3.1 I picked up from a friend.. let me tell you this.. you will nover go back.. I have so much more fun with my 1/12th scale I am thinking of getting rid of my TC stuff. These things FLY!

F1: Thanks. I remember your posts. You gave me a starting setup for carpet with the T1 :). Everyone else runs an TC3. Doing much better with the X-Ray, but we want to add something different.

Miller.

That Yokomo body mounted right up, all marked, no guess work. I think the steering will be somewhere between the parma and the proline. I think it will be the body I will be using.

Does anyone know which Corally tire compound is similar (or a little softer) than pink? Are the Corally tires good, wear + grip etc
Thanks

Kev K:

I don't beileive I havd the chance to meet you, I am from MN and was there on Sat and Sun. I beilieve you or your friend gave me an extra e-clip. I think the use of the corner dots at the oktoberfast race will be minimal, not six at every corner. I just got used to them myself, and now I can't see due to wearing old glasses. It's hard to look at the orange and white stuff to go around, we for me at least. I wish they would get some lower profile ones to lower the "ejection rate" OH well, guess it makes it more challenging. thanks for the e- clip again!

saturday was a bad day of racin' at least I finished the race and got 4th which was 5 positions up from where I qualified. If I would have seen only one of everything and not one big blur I believe i would have been just fine. thanks to that I now have a busted up chassis, but have a back-up. I was wondering: should I get a the six-pack, yokomo, or associated chassis if there is a difference.

thanks,
Pete Simons

(signed up for mod 1/12th for oktoberfast)

A couple of pages back I posted a link to CRC's site that has a lot of tire info.

Pete...I dont remember where you were sitting but Im sure that we will bump into each other again in a couple weeks. Yeah my car was not soo good on saturday I could not get it to stop oversteering. Then on Sunday I finally got it to work how I liked it and it was very good. I would suggest the 12LC chassis if you can still get it its a little stiffer then most if I remember correctly. If you cant get it any of the other chassis' would do fine. And thats good about the corner dots they were kinda a pain but I got the hang of them but was a rough first couple of packs.

newracer: I found the link to the CRC site and the tire guide, it was helpful but didn't say anything about the Corally compounds. Does anyone use Corally tires or should I go for Jaco/TRC/UFRA??

ZER01 09-19-2002 10:49 AM

LouisB, I've used the Ufra's, 45front/40rear on my nitro sedan and the foam is great but the wheels warp very easy.

LouisB 09-19-2002 11:03 AM

I use UFRAs on my Pro-10 and I like them. Which colour compounds are softer than pink? I think that something very soft would be what I need for my Corally on carpet, what compound would you reccomend?
