Anyone know who makes a good tweak station for 1/12? Also, what foam tires should I buy?? I've been running TRC's for past month but since I am not a great driver, I think I need to switch to something cheaper until I cant get my setup right... MY LHS also tends to mark prices up a lot so I get raped everytime I buy tires.

dakrat,

The IRS car is a damper tube conversion kit for the l4. I just used a rev 3 top plate and put my own damper tubes and modified the brace. But I would reccomend using the Yokomo top plate as the holes are in the right place I'm told..

Can anyone explain how the different caster blocks will affect steering in and out of the corners on my 12l4? I appreciate any info

Does anyone know how to sand the diff rings on an l4? Somebody was expaling it to me today and I totally forgot. My diff feels horrible. The bearings are fine....

Get some 400 grit paper. Sand the diff rings in a figure 8 pattern and reassemble. Don't over lube you diff.

My brand new 145 lasted almost exactly 2 laps on 7.2v w/ 70mah cells, lol.

More caster will give a car more high speed steering and more turn in into the corners.
Less caster will give a car less turn in, but more slow speed steering.

That's from a super setup guy on a different forum. Talking about off roaders there, but I'm assuming it applies to all racers turning left and right.

Does anybody run parma tires? I have to order some stuff and I dont want to get TRC because theyre too expensive to replace every week..... Also what are good setup tools such as cast/camber ride height, toe in toe out?

i buy my jaco for about 13 bucks a pair at kthobbies

nmt6789 02-06-2005 07:13 PM

I dont think I am going to use Jacos. They crack too easy from what I heard. Question for those of you with an L4... What caster blocks do you have in your car?

pimpedaccord 02-06-2005 07:16 PM

Parma tires are the same foam as TRC, but on a better rim. The rims are lighter, very tough (I've never broke one), and not hideous yellow. Jaco's are good, but the inner bearing on the fronts gets egged out very easily. You can't go wrong with purple/gray's for stock.
