Looking for a spur gear and pinion manufacter called D/M or something similar (DM?). It's printed on their spur gear. Anybody know of their web site?

sands, I think that's DuMar spurs? I think Trinity used to distubute/repackage them. I don't know if they are still around, or if uncle Ernie bought them up.

Hey Paul , how are you doing ?
good to see you doing well, I was thinking of running up there this weekend ( southshore) it is only a 4 hr drive.
Paul, you guys run mod out there?

thanks for the oil info, I was thinking what you said Cypress, but wasn't sure, What type of sliders are you guys using, I have the large bore ones on , with Losi light hydra drive, was wondering if using small bore ones with med. fluid would be any different,

What I'm really looking for is a spur larger than 128 / 64 pitch. Anybody hear of one?

Casey,

They only have a 19t class or mod for TC and stock and mod 1/12. I will run what everyone else is. More than likley 1/12 stock and 19t tc. I would be up for some mod TC though. I have been running some mod TC so far this year at our track.

I'm running the plastic (small bore) tubes with Medium. I noticed that the small bore tubes seem to have greater dampening than the large bore ones. I usually use Med. or light Hydra fluid.

Does anyone know what companies and where I can get machined 64 pitch spur gears? Even more effecient and even quieter..... I think ;) :) .

stormperson 10-13-2003 11:32 AM

RW (which is basically Schumacher) sells the best spur gears out there. Although I heard that Yokomo also sells white spur gears that look similar to the RW ones, however I do not know if they are machined delrin like the RW's.

Stormperson, can you use large diff rings together with RV spurs?

I think it may actually be for a TC. I don't think 12thscale tires come out of the package as big as a 128 spur.

i just got new tires for a new season of 1/12 racing and im having problems figuring out gearing cuz i havent touched the car for like half a year, the track im running on is a highspeed track, 2 sweepers and 2 doglegs. track size is 80x40 ft. i want my tires to last the whole season so what kinda gearing should i start out with?

thanks

This is what I use for rollout. You'll need a set of calipers to get tire diameter.

I was thinking 1/10 pan car, as I used to run a 125 on my old cars (back when people atcually ran these on road courses!). That was cutting it clse when the tires got worn out.

Brolzy,

I run 1/10 pan car road course in the TC class. I do OK for a crummy driver. I seem to get better each race. I am sure I could beat the Stock TCs with my RC10L3. When I do, they will contest the weight. That was this summer in parking lot racing. It is an orginized track with transponders etc. This winter, I race indoors, a little more professional. While running my Carpet Knife, I asked if I could run the RC10L3 in the TC class. They said yes. I know after each race in tech, they put your car on the scales and check for ride height. SO I bought some stick on wheel weights. I am going to try it.

Sands,

I don't think a 128 spur will work with 1/12 tires. My 100 hangs below the chasis now with good almost new tires. I run 28/98 or 100.

First race of the year was last Friday night. I did not come in last. First time ever. I did 37 laps, the winners did 45. I love my 1/12!!
