Tire choice

I like the TRC tires aside from the cool color they seem durable for the weight. I use other tires but when the racin is intense I'll have the TRCs on:sneaky:

The only thing more hideous than that graphite is the purple graphite on my switchblade.

Dont mean to offend anyone if thats not their thing, but I really dont like that colour.

You've got some good stuff on your page on building techniques. Although I can't read Japanese, the pictures are more than enough to get the ideas across.

thanks.

I use a durometer on all of my tires when they break out of the package. I never just purchase one set of tires, I usualy purchase in bulk quantities, enough to last me the racing season. This way I can match the tires better for a more consistent feel.
SpeedyTC3 . . . Where do you buy tires in bulk? Your method sounds like good advice.:)

T-bar Shimming

I'm new to all this RC stuff, especially 1/12th scale. I have the above mentioned car. Periodocally I see someone mention shimming the T-bar, usually the front. It's even listed on the setup sheets on Associated's web site. Could some explain this phenomon to me. What is does and what to sue for shims.

Novak GT7 Power Module

Can anyone running a Novak GT7 in their 12th scale car give me some feedback on the new Power Module wire harness that is available for older GT7's and now shipping with the latest batches of that ESC.

Novak claims cooler operating temps, higher RPM so I picked one up and wonder if anyone has any info or feedback on its performance.

Lastly, if anyone has any pics on how they installed this wire harness in their car that would be awesome. The board that the diode sits on is a little big and I am trying to find a way to get it in the car without hitting the body.

Thanks

Tire diameter

I have read so many ariticle about rollout, but they all talks about the same thing, selecting gear ratio, tire diameter changes, ...

But what I would like to know are:
- How to select a starting tire diameter?
- Is the lower profile tire going to give more active and aggresive feeling when cornering, since it is so close to the wheel. Higher profile will give the car more rolling?

Thanks

ULL,

Tires with more foam on them give more traction. The closer to the wheel, the less foam and flex for bite. You will find a sweet spot where they wear slower and perform best. I don't true my tires (GASP!) I just run them from new till they are worn out, I'm kind of cheap and sponsor my son's racing too. Most people true them to a starting size because they are more consistant which counts a lot.

bobbyz- Its really there so the ESC doesnt blow up, which GT7's have a tendacy to do, ALOT. The best way i have seen it mounted so for was by taking off the shrink wrapping and ziptieing it to the case through where you would normally zip tie the capacitor. (although this might void your warrenty, i dunno, i saw it on a factoy novak driver's car, so to him it really didnt matter, lol).
