The Rev 3 has adjustable battery position, the Rev. 2 does not, that's really the only difference.

Truer Question

I wasa cutting some TRC tires tonight on the track's truer, using their arbor. I beleive it is an OFNA, the arbor has one small stud sticking out, and you put the wheel over that and screw it on tight. It did the fronts fine, but it didnt make the rears true. It is obvious when you spin the wheel that its not true. Is there a good reason for that, like the OFNA arbor doesnt work with TRC tires, or did I do something wrong?

Cypress,
what handling charecteristics have you noticed when changing oil in the center shock,
at the TRACK in Md. I built it up with 70 and put the copper spring on, this helped settle down the reare end over the bumps,

have you ever tried to go lighter with the oil ?

Would someone take a shot at answering this racers question? I was wondering the same thing too!!!! :D Thanks!!!

When I ordered my Jaco foam tires a while ago, I got the old style rear ones. And now the centerbead is coming apart. But I do have a couple chunks in the set of tires anyway. I need to get some lowered rear pods so I can run the smaller rear tires on my car. That will help bring my lap times up.

The new trinity car does look cool. I hope they make a version thats not blue graphite though, I personally don't like it. The silver graphite that yokomo makes looks cool. But the blue just looks wierd to me. Although I don't think I will buy the new trinity car because its make by trinity. I sometimes have a problem doing that ;) .

SHIM under Front T-bar pivot

i used to add one AE aluminum washer under the front pivot when i raced a 12L years ago on asphalt. this causes a preload of the fiberglass t-bar. it enabled me to run a really soft shock set-up to set the car suspension really soft. especially helped in keeping the chassis from hitting when the power was hammered down.

6-cell car at the time

I am just taking a shot at this but I think adding the shim under the front pivot ball on the T-bar is like adding anti squat to the car. It makes the car turn in better (reducing rear side bite in the rear) and more traction coming out of the turn. I hope this is correct.:)

Hey Casey,

I have been running losi 40wt with a black spring lately. It works well.

Are you going to South Shore this weekend. I have a slot car race in L.I. again and will be racing some R/C also.

Hey Ian,

You missed some great racing sunday. Too bad you could not make it. I TQed 1/12 and Mo won. I drove like a bone head in the main and wrecked myself a couple times. Mo was fast as usual. See you next week.

Yeah, talked to Mo on the way home from Cinci last night. You guys put it on Blackstock, that's pretty cool. Mo said you were dialled. I think we'll be up next weekend, but it looks like you're gonna be outta town, but that's good for me I guess because it's one less guy to outqualify me! LOL. Good Luck at the slot car event!!!

The lighter oil helps over sharp little bumps in the rug, but makes the rear suspension slightly more "reactive" in that the weight can and will transfer more quickly fore and for aft. If the track is ripply, (lots of small bumps closely spaced) I'll go to a lighter oil to help it recover more quickly, but I generally stay in the 70-100 wt. range.
