David uses tape and he likes it , Masami likes it too. I think the design similar to corally battery hold down will prevent chassis flex . it is no good.

So if David Spashett and Masami ran their cars with large dog turds on the hoods you would run with a dog turd on your car??? Remember they arevery top level pros and at their level .1 grams can make the difference between making the show and making an ass of yourself......

Hello,

I have finally mad my decision and I'll purchase the CRC. From what I've heard CRC is about to hit the streets with their new kit, 3.2.

Does anyone know their differences? (Since, I'm not familiar with 1/12 please explain what each difference does!)

Thank you

Nick

I don't think ANYBODY knows a thing about the CK 3.2.

I am waiting to see.

David Root

Found a 6pack for $75, but am holding out to see the CK 3.2.

the updates that areon the 3.2 are listed in their car action add. The only changes...

-12th ball diff

-"sexy" aluminum chassis standoffs (yes that was the exact text from the add)

-thread in front axles with locknuts

-chassis drilled for person transponders (but you would never want to bold your perosnal to the chassis anyways)

-larger battery slots so you dont have to work for an hour trying toget the cells low enough in the chassis.

all in all, no really differences that could not be achieved with some work and a 3.1.....

Lowered rear pods, or would that be the bloody 3.2?

Don't you think that if a certain setup was really that much better, they would be using it? Why do you think Masami mixed/matched tires (TRC fronts with Yokomo rears) at the Worlds? I'm sure Yokomo would have preferred that he run their tires front/rear, but the TRC fronts worked better for him at that track, so he used them. Obviously they are the best drivers in the world, but if a certain setup, part, or tire is really that much better, they will switch. At their level, they will do anything they can to win.

Why would you not want to do that? If the hole is there and the car is balanced would that not be a good thing?

fast-ho-cars 09-12-2003 11:05 AM

i have a RED ed. CK.

the batteries fit flush with the bottom with no mods. i hit it with a file (very lightly) just to knock off the sharp edges. they even warn you not to file it at all and to use a xacto knife to do this or the batteries may be to low......

stormperson 09-12-2003 12:33 PM

the 3.1 already comes with lowered rear pods. and as far as the cells... I heard a few of their team drivers complaining about how much work was required to make the cells sit low, and in the add it says "made for modern NiMH batteries".

Maybe the team drivers had an early run of chassis' or something. It took me all of about 2 min. to clean up the edges to have my batteries level with the bottom of the chassis.

I also don't shrink wrap or glue my cells together. Lately I've been running cells from Promatch.

Lowered Rear Pods

ONLY the Bloody version comes with lowered rear pods, the Plane Jane 3.1 comes with Standard rear pod. Lowered aluminum rear pods are $44.00 or close to it. Red ones are close to $50.00. This and the premium tires are what make the Bloody version worth more than the extra $75 it costs over the plane Jane 3.1.

Now I am trying to buy a 6 pack for my son. found one with body and tires used from a good racer for $75.00. Hope I get it.

David Root............Maybe a 2 CRC family.

CK 3.2

Hello,

Does anyone have a link to a pic of the "new" CK 3.2? I looked on their site but found nothing. Found nothing searching other ways too.

John

I have not seen any on the net but there's a blury picture of it in the r/c car action page 153.

It looks as if they might use a silver colored graphite. I hope not, I didn't like on the Yok. SD or the YRX 12 th. Just my opinion.

stormperson 09-12-2003 04:10 PM

I highly doubt that its silver graphite. I think the picture is just a negative of the car and thats why its like that.
