Right now there is only one body to run, the Parma lightweight Speed 8. trinity makes almost an exact copy of it, however it weighs twice as much and cracks really easy. protoform came out with the ascari (dont bother with ANY other body by them) however it wasnt roar legal, and you have to adjust your electronics to fit it since it is VERY slammed.
protoform drivers are all currently running the parma body (they ran they ascari at the birds since it wasnt a roar race though) since it is just that much better. |
Rollout
sorry about that, I just lost my head somewhere, I answered the post at 3am here in our country!!!
Fatboy/highwayman like what the guru's said gear down not up!!! (stupid me!!!) sorry |
SHOOTERs
Webpage of SHOOTERS opens. It seems that many parts of RC 12L3 are put on the market. There was also a picture of a product in webpage.

Originally posted by David Root I would gear down, (lower rollout) for a mod motor. Tire size (mm) * 3.14 Divided by gear ratio (spur divided by pinion) = rollout. Example: Gear ratio = 100 spur Divided by 27 pinion = 3.703 to one 45 MM tire * 3.14 = 141.3 (tire circumfrence) 141.3 Divided by 3.703 = 38.158 MM of travel of the car for one rotation of the motor. Rollout = 38.158 mm DAVID : what motor would this rollout be applicable to? (38.158) 9 single? 10 double? ... thnx ... :D |
it all depends, upon the motor, track, and layout......
|
I don't have a clue
Highway man, I usually only run Stock. You would have to ask some one at your track or do some test runs for lap time to get the gearing right. The way I understand it, week to week at the same track the rollout can be different.
I run about 41 for a stock motor. MOD should be lower and that is all I know. When I can handle the stock motor and am looking for more power I will go to mod. Driving skills are not that good yet. |
thanks... will experiment on the track...

Hi all
let's say there's no weight restriction on your local race would you add weight on your 12th to balance the car or just set the tweak only.....what are the pros and cons of just setting tweak to to let it track straight against putting weight to slightly balance both left and right then setting tweak thanks |
I try to balance the car at the time that the electronics are installed, then simply tweak the car.
1/12 scale cars are usually close to minimum weight as is. No need to add much weight, especially with Nimh cells. |
 I recently bought a 12L3 & mini servo (hitec 225) Seems stock servo blocks don't really fit mini servo well. Is there any aftermarket servo blocks that fit mini I'm running..
|
kiyano or anyone know where I can get that Shooters stuff in the US ?
Thanks |
akrcracer,
CRC has adjustable servo mounts that work well. I don't have a part number though. spooky, Shooter parts show up on Ebay from time to time. I have a Shooter L3 chassis. I have only used it a couple times and only on carpet. If you are interested, I'll make you a good deal. |
 Thanks I'll go back to site and see if I can find mounts...
