TRL- Try Quasars and if you can use a serrator on them with some of the sides shaved off or about 1/4 of the brush cut off of the top. If you run the P94 then i would think about the dual shunt brush over the single shunt. Spring wise standard seems to be "greens" which i think are 9oz. The Orion springs look killer although i haven't tried them yet. i'm not much of a motor guru so you really want to ask around.

Thanks Stevie, I'll see if my LHS can order some gold rears and silver fronts for me. Will these tires be good without additive? Because we're not allowed to use it (confined space) but we can use tire warmers, but only if you can fin ones that fit. Does anyone know where I can get the strip type tire warmers, not the Eagle or Speedmind ones?
I'll see if I can actually drive the car at Thursday evening's race, if I do really badly then I'll blame the servo, or the tires or both:)

Question --

I have a 12LW -- if i want more rear traction, should i run more or less dampening on the rear pod ??? (i.e. thicker or thinner lube under the disks ?)

Same for the shock oil -- thinner or thicker for more rear bite ? What's a good weight to run as a starting point ?

Thanks!

LouisB: Trinity makes wrap type as does Integy. Here is the link to Integy page.
tire warmers

Looks like that may not work. Home page
Integy USA
Go to drop down bar: choose a catagory

goto page 2
goto bottom of the page, last item #1620

Goodwrench - I assume you have the little Delta shock with your 12LW. Associated recommends using 30 wt oil in it. The kit came with a little bottle of 30 wt oil. It looked like motor oil. There is also two springs that fit the shock supplied by Associated. Use the lightest one. Wolfe has a complete line of springs that fit this shock. You probably will not need all of them, just the lightest. The lightest Wolfe spring will be a little stiffer than the Associated spring. Those two springs should be all you need to adjust to different carpet conditions.

Thanks RC Nitro, I will try and get soem Integy ones, I think that Trinity has stopped making theirs.

LouisB,
My local club does'nt allow addertives,i went once, but never again!!with the cars being so powerfull it was impossible to control, these cars really need addertives to drive them at there best, with addertives it's like driving on a train track.i now after drive 50 miles to go to a track that allows addertives, but its worth it-has they drive totally diffrent with addertives, but then again if you have never used it/then you might not miss it,just go easy on the throttle,
ive never had the pleasure of using tyre warmers,so i don't know what diffrence they make.?.
!good luck!

Before you guys all start buying tire warmers a word of warning: A former 1/12 world champ who will not be named here tried trinity tire warmers on his 1/10 pan car with foams. When he pulled the warmers off, he had 3 grooves burnt into his tires, just before his race. Not good.

LouisB 09-26-2002 08:41 AM

I tried my Eagle tire warmers on my 12th and they fit alright:)
Acording to some people I race with, even without additive, the cars can grip roll towards the end of the meeting, it's just getting good grip up to there that's the problem. It must be some high grip type of carpet because Pinks are meant to work well most of the time.

Stevie: I find with my XXX-S and Pro-10 that tire warmers help loads (but I have to take the wheels off my Pro-10 to get the Eagle warmers on, 2 on each rear tire:lol: )

robk: That could be one of the reasons why Trinity stopped making their tire warmers. They were 12V, not 7.2V as most new ones are and my LHS said that they had a tendency to catch on fire:eek:

Gotta go and charge my batts, I'll give you all a race report afterwards:)

Hi Guys,

We started a pre-order section on our website for the up coming Yokomo YRX-12 Worlds Edition. This is going to be a limited production car with maybe about only 100-150 kits arriving for United States.

Guys
What rules do you run under where you race. Track owner just asked. The ARCOR guys want to run 1/12 also, but 4 cell not 6 cell. We need to find some guidelines to go by. This will be virgin setup for all of us.

Thanks

Kraig 09-26-2002 12:55 PM

Most of the tracks around us are 4 cell. This is on carpet. Looking at what is available car wise there are only a few that have 6 cell chassis.

4-cell is pretty much the national standard for the class now.

Hey Steve,

What about parts availability? I know that many of the parts are from the 12L3 but what about the ones that are not? Also, does the car take the standardized 1/12th tires/rims?
Thanks
