Hello all!
It's been quite a while for me on here. Been busy with nitro and so on. Looking forward to carpet, I should have my car ready by this time next week. Now for some answers. Seamus, for your front tires try this. Hold the tire against the arbor so that the threads are resting on the "ribs" inside the wheel. Switch the truer on in the "rounding'' direction, (when the wheel turns away from you so you can round the edges) The wheel will thread itself on and rest against the stop on the arbor. I figured this out last year at Cleveland after doing three sets the old way and getting tired of twisting them myself. Much faster and easier!! For all who are ordering the Yokomo car. Remember that this car was designed for the last worlds which was on asphalt. Masami stretched the slots towards the rear of the car for more rear traction. The chassis is also thinner and made of a more flexible carbon fiber plate to again improve rear traction. This will not make a very good carpet car, TOO MUCH FLEX!! How do I know all of this, I'm friends with Sean Cochran, team manager for Team Associated and he gave me the inside info on the car when I first saw it. You asphalt racers and no tire compound racers will probably like this car a lot. Us rug munchers will not care for this one much at all. Can you just imagine how this car would twist at Cleveland in the third round of qualifying!! Yikes!! Enough for now. Everybody stay fast!! Socko |
Socko - I concur with your Yokomo analysis. Now it is time for you to practice.

Ah, yes Mr. Lee. I am getting to it as we speak, er, read, oh well you know what I mean. I've got the race shop running full tilt right now with a few tweaks for my L car. Nothing major, just a few ideas I have. I'm still thinking on the Rev 3. Just don't know if I would like the car in mod trim. I know my old Knife didn't like mucho horsepower at all.
Guess everybody else is at Oktoberfast. Wish I could be!! Just means I'll have more practice time for Cleveland!! You going to run Master's Taxi this year too David? I don't remember if I ever saw you run a touring car. |
Socko...whats up bro....racing has been slow down here...but Shreveport did get the Carpet regionals....warmup race on Nov. 2nd. and regionals on Nov. 8th./9th.
|
Well, well....
Hey Dragon. Not much new here. Regionals eh, I may have to make a trip down there if work allows. I'm surprised you guys aren't racing boats now with the hurricane and all. I would think that things will pick up for you now that it's getting cooler. Are you coming to Cleveland? I'll be there for sure! Got my room already and everything. |
Socko....negatory on the Cleveland......bunch-o-stuff came up.....may make Snowbirds......

I have a questuion on bodies. I just bought a used 12L, but I need a body for the car. What do you guys recomend for an on-road body.
TIA |
I just tried the Parma Speed 8 body. I didn't really care for it.
I'm going back to the Protoform Nissan P35. |
way to go PULFER, WOODY, MO.
|
I like Protoforms Speed 8 LMP body better than the Nissan.
