Hi All

Going to be running the MI3 for the first time next weekend at www.carpetwars.co.uk for the first time. I was going to start with Jimmy's setup apart from the one-way. Is there anything I should change as I am running a spool?

Thanks

Tony

You won't get the turn in from the spool that the oneway gives by for the size track that carpet wars has I think it wont matter a great deal. I ran Jimmy's setup last round and it was fantastic.

Extreme Rc

RDX Phi 2 lbs. 12 oz. (1237 grams) PDS-2363, spektrum micro, novak gtx, 19 turn brush, 6 cell pac

JRX-S-R 3 lbs. 7 oz. (1568 grams) KR-302-F receiver, PDS-2413 ICS, Novak GTB plus motor, 6 cell pack

TC5 3 lbs. 6 oz. (1539 grams) spektrum micro, PDS-2413 ICS, LRP sphere TC plus motor, 6 cell pack

Mi3 2 lbs. 14 oz. (1372 grams) spektrum SR3000 big one, robitronic iCube esc, S9550, brush motor, 6 cell pack

R/C Car mag

Mi3 3 lbs. 5 oz (1587 grams) LRP sphere TC plus motor, spektrum micro, Airtronics 94362z

Most of the weight seem to be with brushless system

not taking anything away from the mag but those weights seem a little off. I know that weight will differ from scale to scale but a TC5 race ready with a heavier GTB speedo isn't as heavy as the weight stated. The JRXS-R is about right. I don't know about the other cars but I just found the info interesting

The U1918 blades are the same and when you wear a blade out just use those to relace them.

Heres a quick pic. After a day and a half of practice not one broken part!
(The crack in the lower bumper plate was there before we installed the kydex)

I've been Lipo and brushless only since '03 in cars (and for much longer in aircraft) and it's about time everyone else is finally accepting the ease of use, simplicity and FUN that running them brings back into racing/bashing. We in the car world are YEARS behind the power system understanding curve when compared to the flight side of the hobby. Fortunately the slow seeping in of brushless/Lipo tech into the car side has now become a flood of new products and information.

While setup is certainly not my personal forte, you can consider me your personal power consultant and guide to help navigate you through the array of "new" technology now coming into our use like wildfire.

I've been pounding the first production CORE lipo pack almost daily since I pried it out of Adrian's hands back in June and it's still performing at 100%. The coolest thing about it (pun intended) is there isn't anything I can throw at it in a car that even comes close to it's capability limit. I've even had it in our GTRe 8th scale onroad car to the tune of 60mph, and where a couple Mamba Max systems did NOT survive a full run - the CORE pack had heated up to a whopping 10deg above ambient temp.

My other favorite feature about it is that I can show up to the track early on race day, or on a practice day and run a solid and continuous 30 minutes of practice time. No "peak" to get over in the first few laps, and no power decline through the entire run - just consistent power lap after lap for a half an hour. I don't know about you guys, but that much practice time is like GOLD for me.
Thanks for this post Shawn

Dude I forgot the adapter for the camera. I'll take some more pics at the track tomorrow and email them from my phone. The schui is awesome. Now I just need to drive it to victory.

L8R Marker

Speed issues addressed tonight at the local pub and I think I'll have the 4300/10.5 fast for the Quals.
