just raced it in my truck and since there is no nemesis thread in the offroad section ill just post the vid here when its uploaded. E-firestorm truck (heavy as hell) and the truck moved around pretty well. The weight of the tranny and truck held it back though. I think im going to crank the timing higher and gear down a tooth or two. It has plenty of power so im not sure if its my ESC (XBR) or weight of the truck keeping it form pulling harder where i need it to.

I a ran the 17.5 last night for the first time in "race conditions" with a FDR of 6.5 and NO motor timing. ESC is a Tekin RS on throttle profile 5, timing at 25 and full boost. Motor temp came off around 155.

It was not the fastest car out there but it was very smooth and easy to drive. in the technical infield.

Default Some more info on the Nemisis

Did you guys know that you are not supposed to free spin your motor while the car is unloaded? This means you should not be pulling the throttle while the car is off the ground with this motor.

My motor's magnet exploded when I was testing my car in the pits. I was pulling on the throttle slowly and for no more than 2 seconds; barely got to full throttle and then the motor jammed. Took the screws out and discovered my magnets crumbled into pieces, the pieces destroyed the rotor too.

Customer service wrote back saying these motors have very high rpm and if you run the motor unloaded, motor can blow up and this is not a manufacturer's defect.

I didn't know I wasn't supposed to "free spin" the motor, as I've done it will all my other motors. So just letting you folks know that this can happen.

Even brushed motors can be damaged when run full throttle with no load.
Just not a good habit to have.

I will report back my findings to you all on sunday night. I am pretty confident I will have all the speed I need out of these motors. You really have to watch the gearing and time on the motors but I have found them to be really fast. Also, I will be playing with the tuning rotors as I feel the less powerful rotor may be the ticket in 1s classes.

Keep you posted.
Follow Up...

I raced at my local track in three classes using Epic Nemesis Motor and Epic Lipo Batteries and here are the following results

1/12th scale 1s 13.5 Nemesis - 2nd Place A Main
World GT 1s 13.5 Nemesis - 2nd Place A Main
TC Latemodel Oval 2s 17.5 Nemesis - 1st Place A Main and New Track Record!

These motors are fast when you take the time to learn the power band and set the timing. Less timing is better. I am running mine between 0-10 Degrees Max on the actual motor.

I am finding that I am running on average 3-6 Teeth less (64 Pitch) than I had ran with pervious motors.

Also my friend used two Nemesis Motors as well last weekend and took second in oval behind me...

Have not had a slow one yet.

But word of caution, if you do not adjust your gear ratio and watch the boost and turbo on the speedos you will have fade very quickly with this motor due to heat build up and it will happen fast and the motor will even feel cool to the touch but them warm up quickly.

Just my -98cents worth.

Glad to see some guys are listening about lowering the teeth on there pinion and staying low on the timing. If you go much over 15 on timing you will fade fast and most likely burn up the motor. We are finding that -5 timing and more timing in the speedo is the best way to run. Ran a duo2 then a nemesis this past weekend on high bite carpet and was 2 tenths faster with the nemesis set up this way.

I have found the only way to add gear is to reduce timing. I am going to try running -5 Degrees and adding one tooth to see how it runs next week. Will keep you all posted again. These motors seem to be a bit more sensitive to timing and gear than others, but stupid fast when you find the sweet spot.
