don't know if this is the right thread (I did ask on another because I'm not sure) I have a blue 120A Xerun ESC. I love it but my firmware is probably several versions old. I have no idea how to update it and my software and my LCD box and which versions I want.

I run it with a Castle 1410 4 pole motor or a 550 size Novak 4.5T in my 4x4 short course truck. Can anyone tell me which versions of everything would be best and point me to a tutorial or instructions on how to update everything?

Thank you!

(also if there is a thread that already covers this or a link to another site that would be fine as well)

Looks to be a conformal-coated tantalum capacitor. Can't tell what value it would be but a safe bet to try would be a 4.7uF or 10uF 16V tant. Tant caps are polarised (have a +ve and -ve end) and looking at the white rectangular silkscreen the positive end is towards the bottom of the pic.

Running an 8.5T with a XeRun 120A v2 for a drifter. Came with firmware V1.10_090205_MOD and I flashed it to V3.0_110119_MOD. I now see settings to enable boost/timing advance. From what I read I shouldn't be using boost/timing advance with a motor faster than 13.5T, and for drift it's really overkill and unnecessary. I do want to run some timing advance because I've read and experienced a little cogging at low speeds without timing.

In this new firmware, I don't see the ability to get timing to 20+ degrees in non-turbo mode. Is there a list of the updates to each firmware version?

Also, lastly, does the fan ramp up based on temperature? It's screaming loud without the car even running, and I know drift doesn't stress the motor/ESC much.

There is no list of changes for the various firmwares, to anyones knowledge. And the Fan runs directly off your battery voltage.

Dont know much about MOD versions of the FW though, sounds like the 508 Stock "Blinky" might be a better choice for your application.

Sorry to ask such a duymb question but I need to know how to connect my programming card to esc with, it has an internal BEC but no seperate cable to the reciever and the instructions tell me use that cord? Im assuming obviously I would just use the only cable that there is and connect the lipo and see what happens? Is there someting Im missing?

there is some info on changes if you fumble around in the readme file(or one of the others) of the software package.
