Most 13.5 motors running without timing advance and boost would be geared in that FDR range.

Yes a new diff should feel smooth, you may get a slightly notchy/scratchy feel if you over tighten the diff screw and damage the thrust bearing.

Can anyone tell me if Tamiya makes a 2008 Takata Dome NSX body that sells separately, which I could put on my V2? I have not had any luck in finding one that isn't sold with the TB-03 kit, I don't know if anyone here might have knowledge of where to get 'em?

Does any one know if these will fit the V2 chassis, or are these the longer 48mm shafts?

The V2 chassis should be used with 46mm shafts from what I can tell

Unhappy

Sorry to bug you about this again..
I'm still confused about the pinions and gears and don't know what FDR is but I'm hoping to get that 13.5 brushless motor/ESC soon.
I would really like to use the stock black gear if I could.

would any pinions from an even pack of 16-26T pinions work for the 4.3-4.5 FDR with that stock black gear?
Theres also an odd pack 15-25T if that would work better?

Heres a link to the pinions:

Thanks

Hi Zac

If you go to this link there are fdr charts for the 416, the 416 has the same final drive ratio as the v2.
Remember the V2 has .6 module gear pitch not the 48 or 64 as in the charts, but you will still be able to get the correct pinion size.

The kit spur is 70T so a 32T pinion will give you a 4.50 FDR.

h**p://rss.rcmart.com/2008/12/31/tamiya-trf416-gear-ratio-list/

The set of pinions from tower hobbies you are looking at is 48 pitch these will not work with the kit spur.
This pinion is the correct 0.6 pitch.

I hope this all makes sense!

FDR = Final Drive Ratio

This is the ratio that includes all the gears in the car between the motor and the wheels.
In the v2 this includes the ratio between the pinion and spur and the ratio between the belt pulleys on the lay shaft and the diffs.

This may be a little confusing but in full scales cars FDR will often be used just to refer to the ratio found in the diff, or final drive.

The front and rear ally bulkheads do not come together.

Tamiya does not make carbon top and bottom decks but EXOTEK does make.

Mmmm...new TA05 VII kit being announced at the Tokyo Hobby Show. I won't have to run the 2007 Raybrig anymore, I can get the current version

See announcement (among many others) here!
