Re: Just Bought A TC3
Download the full manual from www.TeamAssociated.com. The stock spur is 48P, 72 teeth. Lots of guys swap this out for 64P, but for outdoor, I've been told to stick to 48P unless you really know what you are doing and the track is always in perfect condition, any failure regarding meshing or foreign object damage will see your spur strip.
Download the manual and set it up like the manual says and you will be good to go for Stock racing for an initial setup. Depending where you race there will probably be a heap of guys running TC3's. Run one meeting so everyone can see where you finish (probably near the bottom:-) then ask some of the really good guys about setup. You want to ask while you are near the bottom and ask guys near the top so that you won't be perceived as a threat. Basically you want to ask all your questions while your perceived skill differential is at maximum before you are considered a serious competitor, after which the answers could get a bit "cagey". What pitch gears come as std? 48? I have no instructions, is it possible to download them from anywhere? Thanks for any help in advance Paul |
I have been running a Team TC3 since they came out and it is almost bone stock. It is really reliable and just tuning it to the track and using good tires are about all it takes to be competetive. Remember Practice practice practice. Hop-ups just damage your wallet and usually weigh more. Clean bearings and good working suspension really help. Practice practice practice!

I like my car with a smooth drivetrain and slightly heavy chassis. It makes for good momentum.
For "Rally" racing-Stick with 48p. |
Thanks for the advice guys,
Have downloaded the manual and most of the other questions I needed answering are there, anything else I get stuck on I'll post up. Hopefully it will have arrived by the weekend and will let you know how I get on. Quick question though, anyone know if my schuie springs will work on the TC3? At least until I can get some AE ones ordered! Cheers again Paul |

i have a gearing question? i have a core and it is getting pretty hot i am running 64 pitch gears (100/33) and my gear ratio is 7.58. track is blacktop 110 straight pretty open. do you think im under geared thats why im running so hot or am i over geared. |
once you get it setup, maybe you can go blue like me ;) :D
|
Last year i wentb blue too early and i @#$%^& up the car...
|
Too much blue? Does anyone make red ano'd parts?
|
i have seen red mod TC3's but the blue looks cooler well to me anyway
|
:p sorry 4 the poor quality on the front and rear shots, and it all started a year ago with blue ally hubs!! I likie the carbon fiber shock towers more than the graphite ones they look cooler.
