I'm going to have to hope I can find my Suzuki Wagon RR body that's been waiting a few years for the Cup Racer I'm building up

Me and a few of the lads from HPI EU are hopefully going to hit some of the clubs with some cars to get some interest going, should be loads of fun! I'm planning for my first body to be the 510, but hopefully painted like a BMW 2002 or Alfa something or other (the old one Tamiya do).

Hey Frank - yeah, the Tamiya Alfa would look sweet on these chassis

i've always like the concept1 body Just never got around to getting it

I also had one of the VW polo bodies - used to run it on my Mini Cooper. But like a dumbass, I threw it out thinking I'd never get another mini

Default Diff action not great

I just got my Cup Racer and the front diff was not smooth but I guess that is a gear diff for ya. My friend got his as well and had a more severe issue. He is an experienced RC builder and his front diff had play from side to side, and from what I understand the gears that were in the front diff had extra material in between the teeth.

It's been 2 weeks since I finished assembling my Cup Racer and the little bastard still isn't running! Grrrrrr! Not really an excuse but I'm still waiting for my SMC Cmax battery to come in from HK, I hope it fits!

Here were some of the things that got me during assembly:

-When inserting the pivot balls (86220) on pages 21 and 26, make sure you insert them into the arm as stated in the manual to avoid and unnecessary stretching of the hole.
-Also when inserting the pillow balls, make sure the upper pivot balls have the step facing up and the lower pivot ball steps facing down. When I realized there was a difference in the pivot ball holes on each side I had 3 out of 4 wrong!
-On page 29, when tightening down the retaining screw for the hinge pins (z775), It really doesn't take much to secure the hinge pin. At the same time it really doesn't take much to strip out the hole z775 screws into. All I can say is oops!

I did have some troubles assembling the ball diff but that had more to do with using the shittiest tool possible then it actually being difficult. Surprisingly I didn't have problems with the itty bitty e-clips on the shock shafts but then I had a good tool for the job. Comes to prove make sure you use the correct tool whenever possible.

Has any body tried uploading a HPI CUP RACER video on youtube? It would be nice to see one in action before I make my purchase.

Fusion Hobbies CA, or Speedtech, CA. both have ABC.

Speedtech carries HPI and ABC,

Fusion mainly carries ABC but can order HPI.

Hong Kong / RCMart and RC Market both have gobs of stuff.
