are the over expensive tamiya msx mre not good enough standard??
why spend hundreds of dollars on the kit if the parts in it arnt up to the job?
im not slating the car im after learning about it thats all

It is common to change to HPI parts if you run foams (wider) as that does not work with the standard Tamiya steering parts....
Also some like to have bigger BBs than in the new Tamiya steering parts...

this seems a little worrying as there is a lot of difference in price??
if i post the tamiya model number for both cars could you identify the kits?

Order of 415 kits goes;
TRF415;
Original kit, with 3mm chassis, one-piece bulkheads, front and rear centre braces, dual one-ways, 414 style suspension, Original black belts, and diff pulleys, plastic rear diff outdrives. Steel screws.
TRF415 MS;
Second kit, based on Marc R's '04 worlds winner (Limited edition). 2.5mm chassis, LWT reversible suspension, alloy rear hubs, blue shocks, low friction white belts, new lower shock towers with extra hole in rear, Dual-oneways, delrin rear diff outdrives. Ti Screws
TRF415 MSX Refine2;
Third kit, as MS, but with lower top-deck, two piece bulkheads with integrated camber link mounts, alloy rear diff (using replacable drive pin protectors). Steel screws.
TRF415 MSX Marc Rheinard Edition (MRE);
Forth kit; was the second MSX kit. Limited edition, with the new steering system, 36t delrin diff pulleys and new (longer) black belts, new one-piece centre layshaft (with replacable plastic pulleys) and front spool, new alloy centre brace and centre shaft bearing holders, and a lower deck with extra cooling holes (to utilise the still unreleased cooling duct). Also Ti coated shock shafts & hingepins, Ti Screw kit
TRF415 MSXX;
Coming soon, based on the MRE (so includes new steering system etc). Steel screws, new dual one-ways, new top deck, possibly a 2mm chassis plate, and the aluminium cooling duct. Effectively a non-limited edition MRE, though not quite.
That is a big price difference between the two cars though... who are you looking at buying from??
Hope that helps
Ed

If you want a very good price you may want to send Masa at RC Champ an email... I would go for the MRE before the MSX if you can get one...
