X-12 comes with 2 shims and 1 o-ring?
Hello guys, I have just received my x-12 motor. Very nice and smaller in size compare to other motors.
I dissambled the motor just to have a quick peek inside. I notice that my motor comes with 2 shims and 1 o-ring, whereas the diagram in the manual and LRP website show only 1 shim and 1 o-ring. Has the factory inadvertently inserted an extra shim on the rotor??

We try to limit axial play to a minimum in production, therefore some motors have 1 shim while others have 2.

Hi Burito, i am using speedo sxx with a 4.0 lrp x12 and lrp lipo, ather the race the motor was ate 126ºc, speedo 60ºC, battery 50ºC with the program 1,6,0,0, it was the only way to keep fast in the race, is that to much?
The problem is that i am racing with other drivers that are faster because using a faster motor, and i don´t know if the speedo will support a 3.5 X12 with lipo in big tracks, but i would not like to destroy the speedo, lipo and motor. Thanks.

Hi, i have tried 8.7 and the motor came 111ºC and wasn´t that fast almost a second slower, does not have power out of the corners, with 9.38 i was faster than 8,7 and the motor was cooler 105ºc with 1,4,0,0

Holy cow... 126°C??? Are you sure your IR meter is measuring fine?
Anything above 100°C is unhealthy and normally an indication that something is not running or set well.
Can you please give me your full settings:
1. gearing
2. motor timing setting
3. rotor you used
4. track size (a link or picture of the track would help)
I can't believe an X12 4.0t is not fast enough with LiPo, that should be insane power on any track...

X12 4t gearing
Hi, i need some advise on gearing for the x12 4.0t with 5cell on a medium sized indoor track. The highest gearing i can get is 8.85 will i be ok at that. Its in between the sugested gearings in the manual so im guessing it'll be ok, i just dont want to cook the motor on it first run haha.

Any updates on whether or not these motors have been fixed of whatever issues they've been having? I'm trying to decide whether or not I should get this motor or something else. Are the X12 much better than the X11? What other motors from other brands are as fast as these but reliable? Since the new batches have the timing retarded does it mean the max rpm is decreased?
One last question, does anybody know what the ABEC rating is for the ball bearings that come with these motors?

but x12 is a problem source, all my friends had many problems with x12 in the nationals, i had an x12 also too, i didn't have bearing problem but mine lost its power, no punch, no top speed.

Ok I trust your experience and judgement, I will go with x11, thanks.
