Well, I have been a Team Lotus fanatic since the early 60's. I'm 54 and I remember Jim Clark and Colin Chapman, Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt, Fittipaldi, Peterson. Andretti, Mansell, Senna, etc and ALL of the Team Lotus glory years, and there were many!

Anyway, I am completely on the side of Tony Fernandes' Team Lotus as they have tried to do things the right way and they have the legal right to the Team Lotus name. Proton Group Lotus may own Lotus road cars but they have no real connection to Team Lotus, despite how the Chapman family feels; I don't think Colin would agree with his son Clive. They are simply trying to screw things up for Tony and Co. Thanks to Proton/Lotus stealing the idea for the black & gold livery, Tony's Team Lotus will be using the green & yellow livery again this year. The gorgeous livery you see on the Lotus T128EF will be on a show car only.

Still it would be awesome if somebody duplicated it for an rc F1 car!

is it just me or does the wheelbase look shorter on the lotus?

I agree, it does look shorter. But I don't think that is the "real" definitive 2011 Lotus T128 or whatever they are going to call it. No way Lotus or any other F1 team would show their 2011 cars this soon. I believe this is a rendering by the person who won the "black & gold livery" contest is all. It sure looks awesome though!!
