Got my Arrowmax F1 diff and built it. It is going for about the same price as the Xray diff but my initial impressions is I'm not impressed.

Cons:
- Unnecessarily more complicated to build and maintain over the X-ray
- My Xray diff is roughly 40 grams, this is roughly 43 grams, so it is heavier
- Oil capacity is just over half, easier to overheat the oil.
- Steel internal gears, still smooth but not as smooth or as light as the Xray plastic gears

Pros:
-Aluminum diff housing
-Wider variety of spur choices
-Possibly more durable (the hollow shaft has a thicker sidewall and is one piece)
-If you have a stock Serpent SF4, this fits a lot easier.

I filled it with lighter 3k oil to do a future test on leakage.

Arrowmax directly. Think it was like $103 shipped to the states. Took about a week and half to get here. Serpent America now has it in stock too.

As far as leakage, I won't get to test for another few weeks unfortunately. Got a lot going on right now. I will test with 3K oil in it since lighter oil is more prone to leakage. My other X-ray diffs I am running much thicker oil.

That looks like a "regular" spur. Can you please confirm?

My X-ray T4 spur didn't work, same with the Panaracer style spur didn't work either.

It looks like you will need the Arrowmax Super Diff Gear Spur, which is what this includes. The Axon DTS series and Xenon VSS series spur gears look like it will most likely work too (the outer holes).

I believe the increased complexity is in order to avoid the X-ray diff different action in left and right turns. In the AM diff the axial force in left turn goes via ball bearings only. In the X-ray one the force goes through a plain axial bearing effectively making the diff a bit more locked at left turn. The top drivers apparently feel it on the track.

Ah, never looked at it that way! I will see if I can tell a difference on lower weight oil and then switch to my normal higher weight oil. I hope the diff being slightly less smooth won't impact the feel too much.

I really hate to bust ya'lls bubble on the xray spur gears BUT you can make any Kimbrough gear to work on the xray gear diff. If you are good enough with a dremel !!!! I have several gears made to work!!!

For the smoothness I played with the bearings preload. It helped a bit but still not perfect. I hope running in could further help.
