It all boils down to preference and tuning choices.. Nothing more, nothing less......"
The midwest carpet guys like pivot balls even when running asphalt on the west coast. The west coast guys only lile to run O'rings. I have run both with sucsess at Aliso.
I don't know where you are, nor do I know what the prefernce is out east or south....
It is up to you and they both work well when tuned to your liking.

Thanks Subaru73 and Marty.
I was at the track today, and had discussions with the F1 guys.
I was told to be careful that I got the correct kingpins during my conversion from GT to RM,
tp ensure wheel clearance
I assume that the pins that come in 50395 are correct.
Is the set 53119 suitable for the RM?

Guys i just won a new Cross Fire Force on ebay and was wondering what wheels / tires will fit it in rubber and foams ? Also were can i get spares for it .As i understand it uses similar parts to the F103 , what hop ups for the F103 fit the fire force , was thinking the alloy motor mount and differential housing as i'm not sure what hop ups are included in the box.

i think tamiya wheels fit but you'd need to change the front wheel bearings.
for hop-ups that fit...
titanium or CF rear axle
aluminum diff housing
t-bar plate
alum motor mount/heatsink
basically everything at the rear pod except for the front pod part.

The 53119 is discontinued by Tamiya.
I prefer the 50395 uprights to the offset type and I also prefer the 50508 F-1 Super Kingpin Set for tuning ease at the track.

Not many are included but they are not that expensive. The main ones you need are the Aluminum motor plate and the aluminum front bulkhead kit. The front bulkhead is the only weak thing we have found on them and that cures that problem. (If you are driving the older Fire Force with the inboard shock setup on front). They are fast and seem to turn a little better that the old 103's. Tamiya wheels fit them but some wheel builders require a 1/4 spacer on the diff side. No biggie but some wheels like the TM's are that way.
Thanks VooDooPH and mxrich very helpfull , now to order some parts
It's the version with the inboard shocks , i'll post some pics when i get it

Next I need to purchase a body, wings, and diffuser.
I would like some suggestions.
For my first body as I attempt to develop some skill.
I think I want something that will take a few impacts, end over end flips and rolls.
Which brand of wings are the most durable?
Can anybody recommend a wing set, body and diffuser that work well together, and are durable.

Back in the '70's I bent a kingpin on my 103. As an emergency fix I cut and put in an allen wrench to run the main. It worked great! It's still there.
