IMHO, TRF414M, much more suspension setting capability. Very easy to drive out of the box. However, some parts can be difficult to obtain ( i had to special order mine from the distributor ), such as the rear belt. Keep that in mind ok?

04R is just as competitive , BUT imho for 04R, some ppl like me want the dual one ways, carbon shock towers (my plastic ones are like.... worn!), the additional cost will be more or less 414M pricing.

ALso keep in mind parts support for tamiya in your area.

Hey, can anyone help with setup information and a good gearing ratio? I will be running at the Laurel MD TCS race in July, and would like ideas on setting up my car for it. Also, what would a good gear ratio be for a Pure Gold 12 turn double with 2400 bats. I am going to try to convert the motor to P94 brushes as well. Thanks

Not to brush off Interceptor question (I'm no expert on gearing, I just go with what don't blow-up )

Did Tamiya ever release threaded dampers that were'nt blue? I damaged 2 that came with my kit, and I don't want no stinking blue

x 414x, the "original" silver damper used on 414M is
49141 TA04 PRO TRF Special Damper (1 pair). Tamiya will include a new special damper (special coating); the same damper but anodized in grey/ gun metal in their World Champion Relica kit next month. So, expect these new dampers to appear on the market the following months..

cheers.

Hum thats a given........... with the dampers and other parts. Tamiya always releases spares for their high end models a few months after the release of product release.
