pUs: Yes, they World Champion Replica kit will include new dampers just like waht Surikarn used at S. Africa, BUT they may still be anodized in blue. The difference is the coating inside!! They use an advanced coating making the dampers run much smoother and less leakage.

Jack, marvi: the main reason of running aluminum pulleys is the much less friction they offer. They are definitely much better than the plastic ones.

Regarding the diff protection seals, there is one manufacturer from Japan who makes them specially for TRF414M / TA04. Drop an email to [email protected], they should be able to give you more info.

I dont know a good price.... but I did buy from this guy before and he is legit... you send the money to his brother in Texas (in med school) and he ships it from, I think, Hong Kong. I bought my TA04R from him. Took about 12 days to get to Wisconsin.

thanks, ill look for those. i think one of our lhs carries some atlas products. i tried sticking lexan diff shields with double sided tape but ill find out if they work when i run this weekend.

Well, cover the diffs is even easier that make lexan covers...just use a sticker!!! take the size of the outside ring, then of the outdrive and put if with the diff completely mounted...i did it on my car and looks great! oh!! my sticker was transparent and i dyed it on black,but maybe...blue is better

oh yeah, that idea's much better i think i have some thick vinyl stickers here that might work. my lexan shields look like crap, its difficult to cut the round shield without lexan scissors.

is it a good idea to polish the aluminum suspension mounts of the 414M? it looks like a rainy weekend. i cant run outdoors and im looking for something to do this weekend. i saw that the rear suspension block has something like a clearcoat finish that seems to have faded. i was wondering if i can use metal polish to shine it up. since im on the subject, anyone here polished all the aluminum parts (bulkheads, etc.) on their 414M? how did it turn out?

I've tried to polish it once, but once the clear-coat wears off, the aluminum gets tarnished very easily, after a week or so, if you want your aluminum have a polished look, you'd have to polish it every now and then so it won't get tarnished. I personally got tired of polishing it every time, since you have to tear it down to do so.

I had mine recoated with a clear ball-burnished coat, like what bicycles have. it's shiny,like the polished look and it doesn't tarnish at all.

Tamiya calls their coats satin finish, which is more like a matte finish, but has a little "gleam" on them.

Kenneth's suggestion of the atlas part works great. Alternatively, try the Kawada Dust Covers for Diff (SK-27).

Works the same, and has a nice soft feel to it

I'd say the best Tamiya car, for racing would be either the 414MII or the TBEVO II. since they're Tamiya's top of the line cars.

For play, It would be the TL01.
