Team Magic E4 Thread
#3901
Sorry but I have to disagree.
The front bumpers are weak. Not the foam but the pieces holding the foam. I've consistently broken the lower bumper piece quite often. I recently replaced it with a piece I fabbed out of 1/4" thick Kydex which now is rock solid.
The upper bulkheads are weak also, hence the need for the aluminum upper bulkhead hop-up. The price difference between the stock plastic one and the aluminum one is HUGE. Its $8 for the plastic piece and $55 - $60 for the aluminum ones.
Parts delivery is not that great either. Overseas suppliers are about 2 weeks via registered mail. Wolf isn't much better either. I placed an order with them on a Tues and it won't ship until late Fri. Whereas other suppliers like Nexus Racing for XRay parts, I would place an order with them Wed. and it ships Wed. for me to receive by Fri. Wolf is in the same Timezone as me but Nexus which is faster is two Timezones away from me. Go figure.
Its got a little more steering than the two belt cars. Thats why its a monster in the in field. However its got more resistance in the drivetrain than the 2 belt cars so its not all that great on the straights.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be here if I didn't like the car or use the car. I would compare the E4 to a real car like a Saab. It nice looking and pricey when they're new. Those who have them love them. However, they don't sell well nor do they re-sell well either. Its a niche. If you like it, you can pick up a good one cheap. Like SlowE4's deal.

damn ha.
saw the pics on this page and something in my head just snapped to "MUST TO GET!"
I might look to buy a chassis next month if someone has an E4 they wanna get rid of. is there a thread comparing this car to the JRXSR?

I have an rs chassis hanging around and for sure have enough spares to fully build it. Pm me if your interested.

The Losi JRXSR is an even more dated chassis than the E4. You'll be better if you go with the RS from Slo_E4.

I would like your input pro10??...I want to build another e4 to perfection.

the only thing is I want to redo all the aluminum in a different color. I was thinking green, or purple...??? Of coarse I need as much components to match as possible. What color scheme do you think would look the best on the E4? VALK- honestly pro10noob's deal will be better. You should look into his FS because You really don't want an E4 unless you have all the upgrades.

The 3racing purple color is a nice color for the Extreme E4.
Green is a color you won't see either.
If you want a darks sided E4(Darth Vader) use black on all alloy parts.
If you want to get people confused go for blue...
They will think it is a prototype of the TA06

As long as it isn't red you will have a one of a kind car.
If you want bling bling, look at Thor's car.
My color would be gun metal or if it is a possible dark metallic blue.

no question its a nice car, but a lot more money than id like to spend for used.
If your still willing, id still like to get your rs.
I might get a upper bulkhead but i dont hit enough stuff now at high enough speed to need all aluminum parts. i was a complete noob this season with my tc5 and i havent broken a single peice of it yet.
unless the e4 parts are a lot weaker than associated, a stock e4 should be fine for 17.5.

Valk??
I will have a roller within the next couple of days that will be going for 140 euro's.
It won't have a lot of bling parts but it will be ok.

already worked it out with sloe4 to get an RS. though if anyone has any alu parts kicking around they wanna sell, keep me in mind.
all ill really want is a front bulkhead and possibly steering knuckles. i don't mind breaking arms and knuckles, saves pushing the damage further upstream to more expensive stuffs.
alu isn't magic though. i have 4 destroyed "unbreakable" alu trans cases for my ntc3 that would have cost $50/pop. of course the plastic shock towers attaching to them survive.. <_<
if i ever get to put together a custom kit, its stainless or nothing!
