Getting a little tired of the massive bodyshell choices that you can get for your M03/5 MWB.
Let's see there's the Swift, the Swift and the Swift - Oh and not forgetting the Swift. Or..maybe the new Tamiya Fiat 500. Or possibly the Speedway Pal Old School Civic Type R |
Everything Colt makes is for the SWB models. For MWB there's almost nothing. For LWB, there's even less. Damned stubby little car fans!
We North American types like our cars HUUUUGE! Considering however, that we make omly up about than 5% of the world's population, it's not surprising that there aren't that many non SWB shells available. Jim |
I have been debating selling my m05 before I even built it. I literally have not touched it since I bought it a month or so ago. I have been debating going the 4wd route and buying an ABC Genetic, but am not sure either way.
Would anyone be interested in buying a brand new in box m05 pro? I also have a set of the mini specific trf shocks, also new in the box. Just seeing if anyone would be interested. If there is significant interest, I'll create a for sale thread as I don't want to take this thread off topic. Thanks |

Well got my new mini today, started to assemble it,got the chasis halves together, then thought about the diff,,is it worth it to upgrade to the ball diff or is the stock one sufficent for racing?

Hi, just a couple of my BMW mini bodies (short wheelbase). Bought these in the 1990s.

Ball diff is a must, but im sure you have it built by now. You will notice a huge difference. I couldnt believe the difference.
I have a M05 ball diff sitting on my bench right now and will test it in a couple of weeks. The gear diff in my M05 worked great, but being able to adjust the diff externally is a great convenience. |

I would like to buy a Tamiya mini , but I don't know what to do...How about the M05 Pro? What about buying a normal M05 and put TRF shocks on it? |

For me this was the most cost effective by a long way. Terry |
Hi,
I have a question, you leave at the M05 the "rollbar" away. Is this for the weight or to give the chassis more flex. Thanx Bart |
not sure what the ball diff / gear diff is about just yet.
sure when running tc the ball diff is needed... but my stock m05 pro outhandled even the most decked out m05's ive seen last weekend. not like the ball diff for m05 is cheap either:weird: |

TFG,
That is a great looking shell. Something else to track down. Julius, Depending on what hopups you have added to your car will determine how much weight you really need to add. I have the Tamiya motor mount, DF-03 heatsinks, use the MO5 battery holders, have 20 gms lead in the front bumper, external motor heatsink and another 40 gms of lead under the battery and my car is 1420 gms easy. This is using a 4000 Lipo battery. Later, Calvin. All your tips are valued thanks. |
