Does anyone know if Tamiya offers stainless steel suspension shafts for the M05? I hate the screw type shafts.
Yes the M03 shafts are exactly the right fit for the M05 And before you ask ........ 53301 - Stainless Steel Susp Shaft Kit |
I love the screw shafts for the front.
No messy e-clips to pop off in a stack. |
hi, just sharing. used a Gundam blue paint marker on the steering rod, esc heatsink and titanium screws to match Tamiya blue. thanks.

Is the new ball diff worth upgrade from the TA03 ball diff?
|
yes, buy the m05 ball diff. it's much lighter and can be externally adjusted without opening the gearbox. plus centered gear (equal length outdrives).
m05 ball diff = 22gms TA03 ball diff = 33gms Gear diff = 40gms Happy Holidays to Everyone!!! |
adding weight
Hi,
Care to share some ideas on placing weight? I need to add about 160 grams to get to our race weight of 1400gms. I got 60 grams stuck to the bottom of the lipo but I need to find a place for 100gms extra. Any bright ideas are helpfull. Thanks |

So the liquid lead fill fill up your bumper. Be sure that it's not TOO hot else your bumper will melt too.. :) |
Lead is pretty dangerous stuff. Maybe use stick-on car tire weights.
Place them inside the chassis or otherwise try and get it as low as possible. I would avoid adding weight to the bumpers as they then become pendulums and make the handling unpredictable/awful. |
Hi Julius, your mini weight rule is heavier than a TC :D
Weights at the sides of the chassis or the bumpers. or at the end of the battery holders. here's a picture of my monstrosity during the 2009 tamiya asia cup in Bangkok. http://www.rccartips.com/tamiya-m03-tac2009.jpg Happy Holidays!!! Joel |
Getting a little tired of the massive bodyshell choices that you can get for your M03/5 MWB.
Let's see there's the Swift, the Swift and the Swift - Oh and not forgetting the Swift. Or..maybe the new Tamiya Fiat 500. Or possibly the Speedway Pal Old School Civic Type R How about this then.. http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...mini/new-1.jpg From Ride, a current model Subaru WRX STi. OK, not my favourite car of all time I have to say, but at least it's something different... I haven't found anyone who has them yet, but according to Ride they are on sale. |
TFG,
That is a great looking shell. Something else to track down. Julius, Depending on what hopups you have added to your car will determine how much weight you really need to add. I have the Tamiya motor mount, DF-03 heatsinks, use the MO5 battery holders, have 20 gms lead in the front bumper, external motor heatsink and another 40 gms of lead under the battery and my car is 1420 gms easy. This is using a 4000 Lipo battery. Later, Calvin. |

Hi
I would like to buy a Tamiya mini , but I don't know what to do...How about the M05 Pro? What about buying a normal M05 and put TRF shocks on it? |
