What's the best front drive Mini chassis. Is it the M01 the M03 or the M05? I have three M03's. In my opinion its the best chassis but that's just me. What chassis do you guys use and why? :batman:

RaceAce701 06-15-2010 07:11 AM

mo5 lower CG and less traction roll expecially on a high grip track

although the mo3 is still compedative expecially on a lower grip track

but the mo5 is a bit heavier that the mo3

When setup right the M05 is just faster, and it's lipo ready.
I added 25 grams of weight under servo and 20 grams on top of chassi to make mine stable running lipo's. To get a M03 lipo-ready you have to add 200 grams of weight at center to stop traction rolling. Our track is very high grip carpet and we run them on foams. The top guy before still race with M03 and he's a midfielder now, he cannot beat the M05's. Don't matter if you run short, medium or long wheelbase either, still faster than any M03. In my opinion the M05 is better than M03 by miles. BTW, I'm in Europe so we use metric, dunno what grams to ounce is....

I have an Orion Rocketpack 4000 and its a little too long for the battery holder. (at least on my M04L) I had to shim out the quick release holder for it to fit, but it pushes the body out a bit. Its like 1/8-1/4 of an inch too long....

If you don't plan on running any TCS races, just grind the bottom batttery opening to square corners and use just about any 3800 mh rectangle battery out there.
I didn't want to have to buy any extra batteries and this is what I did. works great too.
I went so far at to fill in the open areas that would be sanded through with JB weld to bring the strength back.

+1 nearly to the word for me, except my balance plug hasn't come off but rather is half worn away from dragging the ground. Still a winner!

If not running TCS, I picked these up and they're working great http://cgi.ebay.ca/2x-EC-3200mAh-7-4...item27b299df64

They specced this one for TCS Nats. Should work well!

I bought this one recently.I haven't had the chance to use it yet, but it's the right shape and is reasonably priced. Checkout Tower's duratrax batteries. They have some which are the correct shape.
