RIP OFF!!! Mini class is not even main stream and they wanna charge that price. Thats like 20% more than what im use to paying. NO, sorry, the great thing about mini class is the relative cheapness. Spice rims are not even that good anyways. Don't think I'll be buying their tyres!! :mad:

Actually, that's a bargain compared to Hpi X-patterns from tower - they want $29.58USD for a set of 4 :eek:

I've never heard the words "race" and "cheap" in the same sentense. You'll need to spec kit tires or the m chassis slicks if you want to be cheap and somewhat competetive. It's a cruel fact of life.

Wow, u guys pay that much. Forgive my ignorance about different pricing for different countries. For HPI x-patts i paid $22USD/set of 4. For Pit-shimizus i paid $15USD/ set of 4. No shipping either, all purchased locally.

That is the problem with importing items over seas. there is the large cost of putting it on a boat then you have probably 2 more levels of distribution, eveyone wants a piece of the cost.

ya so true. Wonder why only the Japanese kind manufacture them. Some rims and hop-ups have been copied but not tyres ( at least not that I know of). I find it suspicious that HPI, Pit and Ride all stopped producing mini tyres in the same year.

The reason I was given was that there has been a substantial price rise for natural rubber. And that they'd rather stick to more profitable hi-volume (read Touring Car) product lines.

To be honest it makes good business sense. Hard to argue against.

But isn't mini class a growth segment of the rc market. It would make more sense to push this segment. I mean you see it with the other mini hop ups. 3Racing, hiro Seiko, square, etc... there all in on the aftermarket stuff.

Once i get my hands on an off-road enabled mini - i'll be there too :D
