Got a few questions about preparing a Mini Cooper that is TCS legal.

1. Which shocks would be better the #50746 C.V.A. shocks, #53155 shocks or #49198 dampners ?
2. What other replacement parts are a "MUST" have for TCS racing ?
3. Any online stores that stores (other than Tower) that stock these parts ?
4. What tires should be used ?
5. Is the #53267 TA03 ball diff better than the #53341 Manta Ray ball diff ?
6. What spare parts should I keep on hand ?
7. What set-up tools for tuning do I need ?

but the the 50746 CVA Super Mini Shock Unit will work great
2. the mini is tough, if you are using the stock uprights I would recommend the 53523 Alum Fnt Upright Set - M03, M04 and the 53345 Toe-in Rear Upright. Maybe a gear set or 2 50794 M03 G Parts. I would get some if the spring sets 53163 On-Road Tuned Spring Set - (4WD/FWD Touring & Rally Car), 53333 Touring Car Tuned Spring - Set (Short), 53440 On-Road Spring Set (Hard). MAybe a 53343 M03 Front/Rear Stabilizer. You will have to get a bearing set.
3. Online Stores?? The best is RC champ, all you have to do is email what you want to them then you get an email with the price. They are cheap. http://www.rc-champ.co.jp/ on the left it says Oversea Mail Order.it explains it well.
4. Tires depends on surface.
5. the TA03 is an updated and lighter version of the Manta, so I recomend the TA03 version.
6. spares, upright tree.
7. No real set up tools needed. only thing to adjust would be front toe.

What car are you getting?? I recommend getting the swift kit.

Purchased the Rover mini.
Should I use the Tamiya bearings or opt for some ceramic bearings from Acer?
I normally race pan car oval so this mini world (as far as upgrades/modifications) seems to easy. Hope I can learn to turn right.
Will be racing on a prepared parking lot (Memphis, TN TCS race). Any suggestions on shock oil and springs for initial start point ?
Is there any trick to the foam inserts and tires ? Making tires is a new thing to me.

I'm gonna stand on a limb you will want the 53340 60D Reinforced Tires A. I run a sedan insert with a mini foam insert under it in the front, and a nard insert in the rear, on my asphalt track
front:maybe a red or yellow spring from the 53440, 60 w oil, 6 mm of spacer under the piston to limit droop
Rear, yellow or blue spring from 53333 40w oil about 6mm of spacer under the piston to limit droop
Any bearing is fine in a mini. I have spent money on the ceramics, but I don't think it is an advantage in a mini.

Now a question about motors....
Johnson or Mabuchi, which is better for legal TCS racing ?
How do I get them to peak performance ?

from the few motors of those types that I've played with the Mabuchi's have a bit more torque but the Johnson's have a bit more top end. I think the track layout would determine which one is faster, at least for me.

And exactly what kind of doo-hik-eey do i need to do this??.. I'm guessing this would be some sort of mad-scientist-basement-built-gizmo type deal..

Is there any special braid/bars i should know about for building stick packs..

I've done/tried it in the past, but the braid then was just waayyy to thick and my soldering skills werent the best.. Resulting in 'stretched' packs that were just a tad too long :cry: :cry:

One question.. What is that C/10 charge they mention to 'equalize' the cells??.. Is that just a very low charge rate?.. Would .5 -1 amp suffice? Or would that still generate too much heat in some cells while the others are 'cathcing up'??

C/10 is the capacity of the pack divided by 10. So, a 4200mah pack you would charge at .42 amp.
