Another M-Chassis ready to race....

falconcg 12-18-2006 09:13 PM

Went to race for the first time (ran about 4-5 packs). My car (M03M) was all over the track with my stock suspension. Tried the fuel tubbing inside the shock but didn't like it.

Should I buy the RC CVA Super Mini Shock Unit (50746) or the RC CVA Mini Shock Unit Set II (50519).

Also, which springs should I get? RC On-Road Tuned Spring Set - (4WD/FWD Touring & Rally Car) (53163) or the RC Touring Car Tuned Spring - Set (Short) (53333)?

And why one or the other?

Anyone have any of those parts for sale?

You need oild shocks so the 50746 would be best it will also allow you to get it low.

Usually you will find that the front spring is in the 53440 and the rear spring is in the 53163 or the (53333 if you still need to lower the car.)

The super mini shock unit is the obvious next choice up but it's still plastic parts with oil and moving parts . If you do alot of tweaking on ride height and different oils then after awhile the parts become loose and piston hole become enlarged and then leakage. i got the TRF special blue aluminum damper set (#49355). Its more than twice the price but it will last much longer in the long run. you can change ride height instantly and to a fraction of a mm. I also use the Trf short ex hard white spring (#53633) Its shorter than the other ones you mentioned. You can get your car down scraping ground if you want. If you can afford it then go for it..you'll inevitably be getting it anyways. and damn its looks so cool!!!

ABC make the Civic shell, but on their website they've said its only a prototype with no plans for production yet.
However, they're not going to make a mold just for one shell are they! It'll be out at some stage I'm sure.

Tony...Thank you for the post.

I am getting the Xpress Mini...from a very good source...

But, I am also tempted to get the ABC hobby mini...Are they any good? From what I hear in Vancouver, ABC quality is not that great and plus parts are very hard to come by here....

It is worth buying?

Well...I'd have to say that between us we've got 3 of them and havent had any serious breakages yet. That said, they dont strike me as one of the most robust cars I've ever seen. The Xpress is a LOT stronger, although sadly no longer in production.

Tony
