:lol: Yeah, that FedEx "SmartPost" service is not very smart at all. I too use Horizon at times as they are an Amazon tenant, but same thing. Package that that takes UPS a day or two takes them 5-7 days. :rolleyes:

I just spent $75 getting a 21.5t brushless last season and now have to get a new motor.
I realize we have all voiced our grievance with this rule, but just wanted to add that I am pissed too.

I agree, go back to the silver can if they are going to mandate 1 motor model.

it doesn't say, BUT can you run a silver can if you choose? I think that should be an option for those who can't or don't want to dish out another $100 but still want to race this class.

i don't think you can run a silver can. The quote below is directly from the rules.

"Motor Rules: You MUST use the REEDY 21.5 MACH 3 motor for this class. (Part #253) Note: YOU MAY ONLY use the included rotor and stator. $40. Buy once, run the same motor for years. Spec racing at its best! Of course, it's not good for business to sell one cheap motor when you can sell an expensive one every year.

The kicker Eric is that last year I was told that Tamiya was going to start releasing the 05 V2 kit with a B/L esc/motor combo to be TCS compliant!

Sounds like Tamiya sold out to the highest monetary backer - which just happened to be Reedy this time around.

This is what happens when a fun hobby is mixed with big business. Would be nice to see it go the other way, and have a Tamiya Sponsored F1 car at the races.

Tamiya should include a cheapo B/L like the one you showed with zero timing along with a cheap sensorless kit ESC and make it TCS complaint.

Biggest beef about the TBLE02S is that it can't run sensorless brushless. I already tired it on a 380 sized brushless a few weeks ago on my M-Four. :rolleyes: ..had to yank my HobbyWing from my V2.

yeah, i'll have to let this new motor rule digest for a bit. We'll see what my club says or does in terms of adhering to it. I have a few extra motors but not this particular one they want us to run ...would rather spend $100 on a billion other things.

imo... best move ever for the mini class. the locals here asked for it back when brushless first was introduced to mini for TCS series.

the argument then was that everyone already had motors and didnt want to be forced to buy anything in particular...

that is.. till one or two motors in particular had a handhold on sheer performance over the others. and one was really good 'out the box' if you knew where to set the timing...

i guess opinions have changed since then.

I think these rules changes from year to year are what discourage people. Lots of people have minis and many people have 21.5's that they run in other classes. They can use them in their mini. Now you have to buy a specific motor for a one race series for most people. Why the mini class? You make the most reasonably price class one of the more expensive.
