For the 2016 TCS season it says we MUST use the REEDY 21.5 MACH 3 motor
with 273 stamped on it!

Come on Tamiya WHY???

:weird: Is that any better than the Mach2 that I hated in my V2?

Why is right? There is not a similar requirement for GT3 or F!. The most popular class and the easiest to get into is now just the opposite.

So, cheap car that used to come with a free (to $15) motor, now runs a $90 motor, and will likely change spec again in a year. Genius. It goes well with the S Grips simultaneously getting way crappier and way more pricey. I've been running Sweeps and Shimizus this season. They're cheaper and last ages. Too bad they're tiny!

Whatever happened to driving m-chassis just for fun?

This is suppose to be a chassis you put your leftover electronic on..and race for comic relief..

Why the strict motor rule in this class? I'd prefer not to spend another $90 on my $120 car. I got into Mini to have fun with at TCS races.

Very well said.

KA2AEV 12-01-2015 05:53 AM

If I didn't know any better I would think that Tamiya might just be trying to do away with the class altogether by just P/Oing everyone who drives it so they will go away!
I really would like to meet the idiot who makes these decisions!

I just did a quick check for availability at Tower, Horizon, Stormer and TQ. Only Tower has the motor in stock. What are the odds that this motor will not be available to everyone before the first scheduled race?

sakadachi 12-01-2015 07:16 AM

Should go back to silver can hand outs and use kit ESC.

Seriously stupid.

Isn't Tower Hobbies run by Horizon, who are also Tamiya's distribution provider in N America.

I think Tower is Great Planes.

I believe the parent company for Great Planes and Tower is Hobbico. They also own Omini Models.

sakadachi 12-01-2015 09:28 AM

At least TowerHobbies is very timely on their deliveries. :)

Omni-models is also very good.

I agree. I placed an order with Horizon for a few small parts. They use a FedEx system. I live in the Chicago area. My package went from Horizon in Champaign, Il, to a FGedEx center in Chicago, to a Fedex center near Milwaukee, back to the Chicago and finally to my local post office. In the past I would order things from Horizon because their shipping was so good. But, now I can get things from California as fast as I can from Horizon.
