Hi,

I have this part at home but only have a scanner at work - if you get stuck, PM me and I will scan the instructions for you on Monday.

Thanks,

Keith.

Post tire wear

hi,

getting unusual tire wear on the inside part of front two tire. Specifically a straight line right along inside top portion of tire. Rest of tire is fine and gets normal wear. I'm using HPI x-patterns on HPI rims. This also occured on some pit shimizu tires. They were all glued properly and tires did not come off rims at anytime. We usually race on newly paved black asphalt in sunny hot conditions. Is this normal for the M03M's or M03's in general? My friends have similar wear.

nope, that's normal tire wear when you lower your mini and your negative camber increases. Put your mini together like you were about to put it on the track. Look at it from the front and you'll notice that your wheels lean in to the car at the tops, this is negative camber.

Default tire wear

hey Tony, read your section on tyres and the "groove" along one side. I'm pretty sure this is what's happening. But, i did take extra care in making sure inserts were properly aligned and snug. Is there a way/trick to do or check this? Should i go with touring inserts cut down and glued together? I really like the firmness of HPI tyres and inserts.

thnks

Default tire wear

hi killingtime, thanks. So to get rid of this wear i should raise it up to at least get a neutral "zero" camber?

i got same wear on my tamiya 60Ds till finally break one of thm in tha line , after the race it was almos cutted by this line

you may change camber to get the wear more in the middle , but be carefull cause your car wont grip the same way on the turns and probably wont do as good as before

I'm afraid its just something that you really cant get around without compromising your correct setup. Not all tyres do it so its not worth changing your setup to get around it.
To be honest, once the tyre gets to the point where it's 'grooving' badly, the tyre's about dead anyway.

BigDogRacing: What are you doing about inserts?

I did the narrow Tamiya inserts cut down and taped, and stuffed with the foams on top of them. I don't get as much of a line as the pic a couple of posts back, but it is still noticable. Car handles great, but does go through more tires than it should.

Hi,

These pictures may help you out, I didn't take them but they are from someone who installed the Tech 4wd conversion quite a few years ago.

I have a new in box Tech conversion kit (part #TFM-19) that I have yet to install. As I said in the previous post, I will scan the instruction sheet and post for you on Monday - this should help you.

Thanks,

Keith.

Man that is a nice conversion, but looks like alot of extra work. I've got 5 mini's now and I'll probabaly convert one of them just to toy around with.

what's the main difference between the MO3 (old mini cooper body) and the MO3M (Swift Body) in terms of parts. . . aside from the body. . .

can i just get the extension part to make it an "m" version?

thanks!!!
