So lets say I'm not planning on doing any racing that requires the chassis to be all tamiya parts. What other ways can I lengthen the chassis to 225mm without the kit? (or are there ways to build the lengthening kit so that it can be easily removed?)

Here is one way to do it, and there is a lot of good information on the site too. |

What are these made of? Pics look like plastic. Might still be a better, less fragile option than the 3Racing link set.
Some sort of plastic. I had the 3 racing links on my Xevo, my set bound up the front suspension, couple of bad ball cups. |

Which chassis are you running?

Edit: I just took some measurements of the stock links. They're 17.5mm center to center on the screw holes. The new links are 17mm and 18mm. That's some really fine tuning in an otherwise sloppy car. Wow!

MO5 front camber links
Bensi,
Can you expand a bit on this "must have"? Thanks Bud. |

It's a much better car Dan, no question of that. Mind you it's also a lot pricier than the Atomic as well.
Whatever you do though, revise the steering system before you even THINK of running it. The stock bellcrank will break the moment a gentle breeze wafts past the car. The first 2 pics are what we did to fix it, the third is where the problem area is with the stock system. |
Thanks Tony! I was a bit annoyed to discover that the servo was mounted north/south instead of east/west but I'm glad to see the setup works and there is clearance with the upper deck too.
I was going mad since my ESC would not fit in front of the motor in the stock servo position and I didn't want to put it in the rear. You made my day! Hahaha :D |
