I bought a set of m chassis dampers 54000. The quality is very impressive.

I have a couple of questions:

How many 3mm o rings should I place on the damper shaft to achieve 56mm shock length?

The set comes with black and clear I rings. Are the clear ones for sealing the body and the black ones for length adjustment?

three black orings in the shock bodies and clear for sealing ...

Right, the clear one is for the shock body and acts as the oil seal. Use one black o-ring on the shaft, which I believe is what the instructions call for. On the M05, not using any spacer under the piston on the shock shaft will work better. That will give you more droop which can help under certain track conditions. Suggest you try it both ways and see which you like better.

Three o-rings are used on the old TRF TC shocks that had the long shock shafts. There are many variations of the TRF shocks, with different shock body sizes and varying shock shaft lengths, so it can get confusing.

A 56 mm shock length was pretty much standard, but presently many racers are using longer shocks. A lot depends on what the grip level is at your track along with which spring and oil combination you are using. Generally speaking, the lower the grip level, the longer the shock.

I've set the ride height by adjusting the collars on the 54000 dampers to 5mm all round. That was easy enough.

Since I now have the option of fine adjustment after upgrading the shocks I've had a further play with the preload.

I have four mini electronic scales and have tried to equalise the weight at all four corners.

Unadjusted they read:

FL 374 FR 316
RL 279 RR 320

After adjustment:

FL 348 FR 344
RL 295 RR 291

It seems so counter intuitive to preload the corners that start with less weight to even the load. Is this the correct way of doing this?

Yeap, that is right.

It is not counter intuitive if you consider how suspension works.

Make sure you don't change the ride height in the process.

I thought that car came out a while ago. Isn't the 4wd mini with a 380 sized motor?

Has this caught on at all? Is anybody running a 4wd mini class at club level?

the yellow bars is extra set of arms placed there along with orginal arms. i guess that will stop the caster block cracking? anyone done it?

Will those bars across the back of the arms fit, is there clearance? I want to try this it looks different.

They have just started a 4WD mini class at our club here in Aus. They have even put rules together for this. It's starting to become quite popular down here.

Try using hard springs on the rear and lighter springs on the front as well as decient tyres. I've heard the hpi x patterns (for the hpi mini) work well.

Ride height was unaffected. It only needed a total of 0.75mm of adjustments on the collars to even it out, not much at all really.

Since doing this, the car no longer pulls to the left on acceleration!

A good day to all i just purchased m chassis damper set just want to ask what works well the two holes or the three holes and what silicone oil and springs should i exactly use (tamiya brand)
By the way my kit is m05 and am running it on asphalt
Any help would be much appreciated thanks in advance and god bless us all
