Has anyone tried the 200mm rear arms on the TC3?
What would widening the rear of the car by 10mm do to the handling?

200mm
Also, the only reason to go wider is if you have plenty of excess traction, which, as you probably know, the vintage tires don't deliver. Also, a wider car is more unstable under acceleration, especially when off the racing line.
My advice -- buy some extra springs, shock oil and caster blocks with the $50.

I'll try to find pics...
I didn't really see any performance advantage, etc (my TC4 Mustang was always faster) and the 200mm front arms are getting pretty tough to find. And you have to be REALLY careful about used arms as I've found that used 200MM rally arms are often bowed and unuseable.

I've always loved the Panteras. Unfortunately it's from the next era of TransAm cars so it's not legal in USVTA but I had to do one.
One of our locals (Shawn Kiely / Big Fin Graphics) did the paint--he's pretty amazing. All the vent and inlet grills are painted, not stickers. The REALLY amazing thing is that this body is a 2-piecer and was painted as-such without being cut out. The red pin stripe lines up almost perfectly between the two parts. I couldn't have done that in a million years of trying.
He'll do pretty much anything for bodies and at very reasonable prices considering the work he puts into one-off projects like this one. If anybody needs paint laid down I can put you in touch with him.

How was VTA racing in your area this past week?
Locally (Indy/Marion County R/Car track), we had lighter turn-outs due to the weather. The racing has been "non-turbo" for the last few weeks, which has really brought the field that much closer. Top 6 cars all had a chance to win the A-main. Driving a smart race is becoming more important, but racing has become more enjoyable.
I qualified in the back of the A-main, but focused on clean driving. By the half-way point in the 8-minute main I had taken my TC3/GTB/HPI '66 Mustang to the front. Unfortunately a lower shock screw came loose at the 6 minute mark and the car become unpredictable. I was able to nurse the car to a 4th place finish.
Regardless of finish, I'm really enjoying the "slower" speeds the we've been running. Now I just need to figure out how to fine tune the timing on my motor to get the best balance between top end/infield.

This past weekend, Trackside in Brookfield, WI (just west of Milwaukee) had a BRL Oval warm-up race. Trackside allowed the Vintage Winston Cup class to run which is USVTA rules except for Superbird (yes with the high wing), Torino and 70 Monte Carlo bodies. All USVTA rules applied. What a great event!!! Close lipo/ 21.5 non turbo racing on a 5.8 second oval.
USVTA is alive and well at Trackside, the very first Vintage Trans/Am class and host.
And yes, we did have "The Big One" in the main, but all racers continued......
