what's the setup you have on there atm?

johnbull - geometry changes to free up the back end on power - I would try (in no particular order)...

Less rear toe.
Raised rear roll centre - requires the fitting of spacers (2mm is biggest that will fit) under balljoint on rear hub, or raising the inner wishbone mounts by 1mm or more, or a combination of both.
More rear anti-squat.

I ran my SD indoor carpet foam tires.

No problem on STK, 19T then I put on mild MOD 13X2... Now it's chattering when takes the tight conrner at high speed.

What do I do now? Softer or Stiffer?

Thanks

Sounds like you may be too soft and the the body or chassis is hitting the carpet since it is just high speed corners. I would try going up a spring or 2. What are you running now?

On the leaky shock issue: When you are building shocks, I can't stress enough that you need to lubricate both your shock shaft and the o-rings before you put the shaft through o-rings. I bet that 90% of leaky shocks occur because that was not done beforehand. The o-rings have a tight, tight fit around the shaft, and they *will* be damaged if the shaft does not go smoothly through them.

If you're not sure if that's the problem, just pick up some new o-rings and rebuild the shocks. They are super cheap.

Komkit, are you running you dual rate (steering throw) at max.? If so, the wheels will chatter after the universal gets to a certain angle. Try turning your steering down to about 80%.

I won't be able to post much more today or the rest of the week. I'll be leaving in about 4 hours for the Reedy Race and probably won't have computer access until I get back on Monday.

Errr not so sure about dual rate.. I kind of thought about the ackerman thing a little while ago.. I'll look into that later this weekend... Do me no good to do this kind of thing on the bench.

Man, no computer no Internet for a week? hahahaha Wireless PDA is the answer

My notebook can hook up with my cell phone for wireless internet anywhere I go. Makes race coverage easier when I'm at the track for big events.

I have an AT&T GSM phone with M mode if I get really desperate. Well, I'm off to the races. Maybe I'll see some of you there.
