I don't like whatever alloy Mugen uses for the turnbuckles. As they break I use an aftermarket turnbuckle but in theory, if that doesn't break, something else probably will.

Aluminium turnbuckles do tend to fail when you snag a wall at speed.

I’ve only bent the turn buckle but I’m sure if I ran the main in the class they would have finished me off.

I think he just did a straight up chassis swap so no, dont think he added weight back in to compensate but knowing him, his cars arent right at the weight limit so should still be legal

No kidding, i started the outdoor season with those set too far down. I wondered why the car would spin out mid corner, tried all sorts to fix it - the arm was hitting the upstop, suspension could travel no further and said 'goodbye'. backed them off and it transformed the handling so i could get on with driving the car!

What are you guys doing to prevent the up-stop grub screws to the lower arms? (Or are you about that not-worrying-about-it life?)

So far, I just set them to where the chassis is juuuust about to bottom out, but in an accident, they can still gouge apparently.

Piecing my package together and my buddy is telling me this thing doesn't come with a spur gear. What are my options for 21.5 but 48p? Only slow classes being run near me unfortunately. I have trauma from stripping many many 64 pitch gears, so i'd rather not. Was trying to go as low as the low 60s, but i'm only seeing Kimbough making stuff like that and my understanding is the pattern is not compatible. Will the eXcelerate drag race spur work (whatever that means)? They make something as small as 66 tooth. Thx for the insight peepz.

For 48p you would need a ~60 tooth spur gear, RW racing black series for Xray fit nicely on the MTC3 and they make pretty small 48p spurs

I run USGT with 48p gears. I run a 66t Kimbrough/Associated along with a 42 tooth pinion.

Hey guys, can you post some pics of where you have your weights set up to get the car to the limit weight of 1,320 please? 1up has his series at 1,350 so any tips and pics would be awesome. Thank you.
