Nobody said anything about closed vs open cell.

Guys we are all friends here LOL!

Also the canards purpose is to induce a vortex which helps organize turbulent air that tends to "buffet" out of the wheel wells. The actual lifting device is the splitter itself. Yes the area of the canard does add some neg force but it's obviously not efficient otherwise you would just put a wing there.

Just .02, but on my mugen nitro, it has a real splitter with a small expanse zone and it does make a bit of difference. The times I have damaged it, the car usually loses a decent amount front end bit in the high speed sections.

Just some food for thought.

I was told that the MTC3's chassis was capable on tracks that favor both carbon fiber chassis as well as those favoring metal chassis.

Does anyone have experience proving that to be the case?

I think I saw some posts about a CF chassis for the MTC3 and I'm looking for opinions and insights on the benefits of a CF chassis for this kit.

I believe Krazedbuilds has been testing a carbon chassis for it

I ran have a season on medium grip asphalt with the alloy chassis and no complaints in terms of performance here.

I bent the chassis twice from some nasty rear end collisions but being aluminum I was able to bend it back without issue. Personally I wouldn't bother with a CF chassis. I purchased the Weirc steel chassis so we will see how that performs but the biggest selling point for steel in my mind is longevity.

It seems like some ppl adapt to the alloy chassis on asphalt, and some don't. My friend tried the alloy chassis and he was struggling to put down any decent lap times while wringing the hell out of the car. He switched over to a 2.2mm carbon chassis I made and just leisurely ran the car on the track and managed to gain 0.5s.

On the other hand, plenty of ppl raced with the stock alloy chassis and were really fast, one TQed during the last race so I think it's all about finding a right setup and if you can adapt to it.

Could someone test already steel chassis?
Is it useful in stock class(21.5, 25.5) in CRC black carpet?
I doubt for 25.5 class due the car become very sluggish

Is it useful or not even in ETS 21.5 class with ETS carpet?
But I doubt, due ETS run 4.5 fdr in 21.5, as same situation in 25.5 on US.

Best regards

I'd be curious that when your friend switched to the carbon chassis, did he add weight so that it was legal? I know I've switched to carbon and gone faster but then added weight and went a little slower.

Why did you switch to carbon fiber?

Because in the old days we thought carbon fiber was the only thing for outdoor asphalt. By the way, I switched back to aluminum. (oh, btw, this was on an A800MMX, not a Mugen)

Also, I might add I think the chassis (which I believe is 2.2mm thick) didn't have any recess for bulkheads, motor mount, roll center plates, etc. to bring em down at the same height as the 1.5mm chassis.

If he didn't compensate for that his roll centers and diffs heights were totally off compared to the stock chassis

If I had to guess you probably caught an edge on the wall. I have had this happened with AMX cars and the entire corner of the car got ripped off.
