Been doing tons of testing with the car and feel like i have made some huge gains on the car and very excited to run the indoor champs.


I am sending over my latest setups from the Halloween Classic. Felt like the car in the main was the best it had been all week long and should have been 2nd or maybe even 1st if not for my little roll over mistake...

I'm running the Slipper Spool. She drives like a champ! But somebody said the car was driving with the rear. I'm coming from off-road 2WD. I have no idea what to look for. The track I race at has a ton of people to offer pointers, they have been more then helpful. I really need to learn, I guess the proper terminology.

Just some questions on the TC5:
Planned set up is 4WD street racer using non protoform/race bodies and
HPI street rims with HPI Advan copy radials, 3.5 brushless.

1. Does it use standard 4mm flanged lock nuts?
2. How can I increase ride height to 8mm? Ill be running on slightly
bumpy street pavement.
3. What are the weaknesses of the TC5?

1.Yes, the wheel nuts are 4mm.
2.You might have to find some longer ballcups for the shock shafts to lengthen the shocks a little. Besides that you should be able to get 8mm height without problem.
3.If durablility is what your asking about, in my opinion the TC5 is the most durable top-shelf TC on the market. The only thing I have broken are rear hubs.

Hey thanks for your response. Ill just use large steering ballcups for the shock shafts. And yes I was pertaining to the durability of the tc5. Straight line stability on street pavement is my concern, Ill go nitro hunting this coming holidays.

If I had to guess, I would think you have a ton of on power steering (love spools and oneways) You can move your front arms forward 1mm. That will settle it down a bit. You can take the shims out from under your rear camber link also. That will add a touch of rear traction. If the rear is just plain stepping out when you hit the gas, you might need to drop a spring rate in back to get the weight to trasnfer back. But would switch the shock pistons to #3 and put somthing like 50wt frt and 40wt in back before I changed the springs. The new piston/oil is more of a carpet setup than the #2/35wt your running. Really smooths the car out when the traction comes up. Just easyer to drive all around.

When it is mentioned that the motor screw has been removed in the setup sheets, is that the screw that connects the motor plate from the bulkhead?
