SWEET! Thanx for the input! We have actually been tossing around the idea of 7 or 8 minute stock TC at our track... a few have shown interest... but not a majority. 4600's are opening doors for electric w/o the issues of LiPo.

4* castor blocks work fine for me but any changes you make to your car has to fit your driving style too. Some people like more turn in and use 6* castor blocks, I prefer the 4* as I said. Experiment with both and see which fit your style of driving best.

Caster is faster. Most everybody runs 6* unless the grip is really high, some will go to 4* to make the car easier to drive.

What are the benefits of running 1 degree rear hubs opposed to 0 degree rear hubs?

TIA

Besides the above, you also don't loose/gain length on the wheelbase when you change toe at the hub. It seems most guys use the hub toe on foam cars.

had a question about droop. I was looking at Juho Cleveland setup that list fwd 7 and aft 6 of droop. How is this measured? Is it above ride which means to me that with the tires on and on flat surface and measuring when the tires touch. Or it is with the the wheels off using the droop guage. This doesnt seem like alot of droop travel at all or is it the point. Still new at this thanks

the 7 and 6 are from the associated droop gauge.

Funny, we were trying to finalize this yesterday. We have two good options and are debating which is best for the drivers.

We should announce something shortly.

Shawn,

I believe most of the Foam TC5's that I saw at the Novak were running the stiff suspension components front and rear.

As for myself, I was running the stock arms and caster blocks all week in the rubber tire class. I also ran the ITF chassis and top plate. The car on rubber tires is incredibly balanced, and is easily tuned as the traction comes up (even for a 1/12th guy). One of the things I would have tried if there was more time, was the standard chassis and top plate. With wicked high grip associated with a big race where both rubber and foam tires are being used, I think it could have made the car easier to drive.

In the future, I will most likely keep running the standard suspension components for rubber tire, and use the stiff for any foam races i may attend.

I put the droop of 6 and 7 on my car but it wouldn't let me get ride height. What was I doing wrong? It would only let me get about 3mm, not the 5 and 5.5 that he has posted.

Use the AE droop gauge and measure it at the bottom of the outer hinge pin hole on the a-arms. You can do this (droop 7 and 6) if you have new tires on your car. If your tires have a few runs on them they are a bit shorter and you lose ride height. When you raise your ride height to compensate you lose your droop. If this is the case then move your droop to 6 and 5.

YMMV
