Hey Guys,

Any ideas when the TC5 knuckles and rear arms will be available? Looking to go back indoors this weekend, but I can't find knuckles for spares... I checked a few website, but no luck.

Thanks in advance,

Anyone know if the TC4 front caster blocks will fit on the TC5?

Default some tips.....

Sorry my bad. An oversight there. Yes, the addition of silvers will help. And they are only recommended accessories for asphalt racing. The car does work in stock form, just needs a bit of work.

The biggest thing I have noticed about the TC5 is that sway bars are not required to run on asphalt (rubber tires). I have tried both (with and without sway bars) and the car not only feels better but is also more consistent and yields faster lap times without sway bars. (unlike any other TC I have had before) - it also does not seem to 'pitch' or roll through corners.

A couple of other observations I have made over the past month are:

1. likes Mazda 6 body over any other on asphalt/rubber tires
2. on med-high grip asphalt tracks, standard bottom deck and itf top deck (o-inc. ring mod) yields great results
3. seems prefer softer dampening (#2 piston) - faster piston speed = greater frt/rr weight transfer
4. when building the diffs,
a.make sure you apply small amounts of grease on the backside of the plate and that the plate is firmly and correctly secured (sharp edge against plastic)b.make sure you do the diff up tight as per revised manual
- to avoid diff problems
5. take out the bump steer with washers under the ball studs on the spindles (2-3mm)
6. check steering throw to make sure it is not excessive (ie. more than 24 degrees)

Hope this helps. Enjoy!!!

- Leonard.

I broke my steering block and haven't been able to find any for sale. Do you think the TC4 steering arm will fit? I would hate to miss out on racing the car because I can't find a replacement block.

I know its possible, but not positive on what parts it will require. Juho did it on his prototype car. There are pictures of his car here and I think some explanation on it. Maybe somebody else that knows for sure can post or do a search.

I am going to build my car now that it arrived today

it's possible, but not easy... Juho did not " do it" on his prototype car, thats how the parts were made for the prototype car... there's a difference... to use the TC4 steering blocks you need to fabricate an extension piece to get the same ackerman ballstud mounting locations. There is also the issue of using the standard bearings which will require the old cvd's...

They will fit but it's not recommended as the bearings are different, the diff slots will be different, the axles are different, etc. You could do it but it would cost you a small chunk of change and you would have to modifiy the diff outdrive slot to fit the older pins....and then it would not work with the stock pins when you did get the correct parts to change it back.
