Just a note to all that are having issues with diff meltdowns:

the standard diffs work perfectly fine with low wind b/l motors (3.5t and 4.5t) as long as you take care when building the diffs.

1. make sure the diff plates are cleaned with motor spray
2. place 4 small blobs (equally spaced) of silicone grease on the outdrive - d-ring area
3. make sure the diff plate is facing the correct way (sharp edge towards the outdrive -facing down away from the pulley)
4. build diff as per instructions (diff spring precompressed)
5. make sure the diff is tightened properly

Hope this helps. (it has solved my initial issues)

Interesting, my 9550 no way was going on. I had to grind down the side of the 2 servo mounting blocks. Turned out fine, but blocks against sides of servo was too wide. Possibly you got some narrowed mounting blocks?

ok , sounds like a chattering you would get from full steering lock.

its definately coming from the front diff bearing housing and cam....

i have taken them apart and checked for burrs, damage but nothing.

it occurs when you rotate the drive chain, its noticable at low speed...a very mechanical sounding ticking noise, and its rotational speed sensitive ( faqster it spins the noiser it is)

bearings are new, its got me confused.

no noticeable effect on performance thou

A few people have posted that they have a clicking noise in their car also but some team drivers have said that the pins in the spur gear shaft can move inside the pulleys and click around some but still be secure inside the (20t) pulleys. If you were to take those pieces apart and puts some diff grease in there, just a small drop, that should hold those pins from making noise and then you could see if that fixes the noise.

On my car I don't hear any noises at all, but I havn't run my car yet either.

If you're still convinced that its in the front of the car, then switch the bearings, cams, and diffs to the rear and of course bring the rear stuff to the front and see if its still there. I know its extra work but by doing this you would start eliminating what it could be.

Associated is an american ompany, but it is owned by thunder tiger which is not.. I also was told all of the parts are made in china now.. So as far as i am concerned they can keep the red white and blue on the lable, but it is not an american company anymore..

Now dont take this as a dig cause i love associated products..They have been the footstone for most of the rc we have today..But american company i think not..
