Bob B 8/10/17 - Should I start with the kit setup?
The kit setup is a great place to start. One other option that many of us start with is Joe's rough track setup. You can find that setup here
In order to run it you need 3x2.1 pistons and 3x2.0 pistons. (They are marked on the sheet as 3.1 and 3.0).

Matt W 7/7/17 - What is overdrive and when should I use it?
The NB48.4 comes stock with a 12t pinion (TKR8152) and the 39t ring (TKR8151) in both the front and rear and the EB48.4 has a 12t pinion (TKR8152B) and the 40t ring (TKR8151B) in both the front and rear.

The two sets of gears are used to overdrive the front of the EBs or underdrive the rear of the NBs. If you have both vehicles and want to try underdrive it's as easy as swapping the front diff and pinion of the EB and the rear diff and pinion of the NB. Underdrive helps on very loose tracks, when you need more on power steering or if the rear of the car feels loose.

Tips and Tricks
Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Warranty Policy:

Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:

Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Did you move the spacers to the outside of the hub as discussed along with this setup? My issue with the car is a tad pushy through corners in comparison with an AE or XRAY. I've made some small adjustments with camber and toe and it's improved but I'm not 100% satisfied. I'm going to swap my car to the 18 rough setup and try it out. My only question is about the hub spacing if it's necessary or not.

How does one achieve full kick up

for 3x2.2 pistons are you taking the 3x2.1 and drilling them to 2.2?

I ended up ordering some from Fantom Racing. They were out of the one I ordered, but when I called them they said they had a new battery that is not on the site yet. Its a LIHV 5800 in the same case as the 5200 with the same dimensions and about the same weight. These are supposed to weigh less than the Orion 4800's the LHS recommended. I had to wait a couple days for them to get the new labels, but they have arrived!

There is too much slop in the rear hub assembly if you shim it like they suggest (5mm of spacers). The pic shows the space, but if you slid it over to the left it would be bigger. There is decent size gap left. Some of the setup sheets somewhat address this with an extra shim making it 6mm I believe, but I ended up printing an assortment of my own spacers in various thicknesses to get it just right instead. I am building two of these cars right now and they are both like this. I think the spacers needed were around 1.7-1.85mm (forgot the exact number).

Default Hi, upgrade chassis brace?

Hi I'm new to the tekno stuff but I'm going to buy a eb48.4 to use to mostly bash and take to the track, but in a lot of hard bashing videos I see the rear chassis brace breaks and bends the rear center driveline. I was searching and all I could find was the stock ones and I was wondering if there were any upgrade braces. Or if there was another fix for this. Tia

I mean it's pretty hard to do already but if you expect to be extreme bashing you might want to upgrade to a new chassis like something from M2c as they usually make their stuff a little more heavy duty. There is also this center brace that could help avoid a little more chassis flex. But it's not the ultimate solution. Truthfully if you're landing rear first from 20ft in the air, most cars will suffer some sort of damage.

Finished building the eb48, overall smooth build and i enjoyed it very much. Everything seems very well made and fit and finish is great. I painted the body bright orange (not really fluorescent). If only there was a way I could post pics as I haven't reached the post limit to attach files...

pretty important since it works the same way the shock collar works.

It keeps the adjusting collar where you set it. Without it your adjustments will not stay where you placed it.

Did anyone else have issues with installing the motor ? I did it in the end but it was a lot of hassle.
