Hi all, will the Reedy 2S 2700 mah hump pack fit the nb48.4?
I would post the link but the forum won't let me as I haven't posted enough posts to be allowed to post links yet.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Sorry, meant to post this in the NB48.4 thread

This is the norm to do on all track surfaces. You do need to be a clean driver though. If you case jumps, you can very easily bend the middle front driveshaft. But removing the middle and rear braces allows the chassis to flex and provides much better rear traction as well.

Hi
I just wanted to ask have people been able to get their eb48.4 (or previous models) to the 3.2kg running weight ?
I am no no where near that, as my running weight varies from around 3.45 - 3.6kg, depending on which battery I use.
My electrics:
surpass 1950kv 4268 motor - 331g
savox 1271 servo - 63g
xerun xr8 Sct esc - 90.5gram
lipo - 503grams/643grams.

I can't remember the last time I've weighed my buggy, but generally most drivers in my area tend to prefer larger capacity packs which increase weight to help add stability and increase length of run time. The club in my area does 10 min mains, and there are folks who struggle to make that length as their packs age.
Only time I have heard of weight being an issue was when Ryan Lutz lost his podium position in nitro truck for a national race, it was just a few grams too... basically lost weight from tire wear... the lesson learned there was to not get anywhere close to min weight IIRC.

Maybe that I am worrying about that weight too much. I have still not had the chance to run it since building it. It will be interesting to learn how the difference in weight of the lipo can affect the handling, as the difference between the is 140grams.
I checked the weight of my tyres, I have selection of dirt and Astro tyres (from the uk). I learnt that the total weight of tyres (all 4) varied up to 100grams.

Hey all - I am building up one of these bad boys and one tip I will give anyone else building one is I ran into a snag when building the front and back ends when you attached the A-arms. I had reamed them out with the Hudy 4mm reamer and everything was moving freely until I screwed in the thick droop screw and I noticed the arms would drop slowly like there was a bind. I didn't realize this at first but went backwards and after removing the droop screws the binding went away. Spoke to someone and I guess you are supposed to ream after putting in the screw since it pushes out the plastic enough to bind, which I did and all is now well. Figured I would pass this along to anyone who missed this. Also, the Hudy reamed, although expensive for a rarely used tool, did a good job in case anyone is on the fence about what to use. Prob better than the drill bit, although some said a chainsaw file is best in terms of price and performance. Thanks all for all the tips in the forum!

I just wanted to ask what spares are worth carrying when racing the eb48.4?
I finally got the change to run it last weekend. I broke it twice, I broke a shock standoff/mount. I Also bent a centre drive shaft, I do believe that was a result of running the last round not knowing that the screws that hold the centre diff were missing so. I was lucky enough to borrow spares whilst at the meeting.
so e-buggy racing is a little different to 1/12, a lot more can go wrong and there’s more of a chance of things coming lose.

I'm pretty confident it will be a 90% fit but the front end where the Ackerman moves side to side might need to be cut wider for clearance
