nice track Mason but looks kind of small compared to what we race here

I'm going to the AE warehouse sale tomorrow morning. In the event I see amazing deals on a B6 or B6D, which is the cheaper route to go if I want to run laydown trans but with a ball diff?
I have never run a 2wd with gear diff before, however, the clay I typically run on is high bite to very high bite and I run slicks often, ghost pins when the track is a little older or warmer weather. Maybe I should try it with a gear diff first? Thanks! EDIT: Looks like B6 ball or gear diff kits are ~$40 each, and the laydown trans kit is ~$30. I know I'd always want to be running a laydown, and there is a chance I'll occasionally be running carpet track too. Seems like it just makes more sense to buy a B6 and then a ball diff kit. In the end I'd have both diff types and laydown trans. |
B6d plus a laydown kit is cheaper than a B6 plus a ball diff. If you won't ever use the gear diff, go that route.

Not to mention you would need Tower and arms.

Jesse, I’d go with the B6 and a ball diff....especially if you ever make it to scvrc or ricochet, save the gear for that.

Phat-Boy:
The Associated Warehouse sale is selected products that AE is willing to sell. Some years are better than others, Kits, Electronics, Used motors, Batteries, etc... Se their Web site for details. It is not a "fire sale" of everything but a good selection. Deals can be great to OK. |

Are they selling everything in warehouse or selected? What kind of saving is it worth trip? I might go if they sell b6 parts.

I would get the B6 personally. I like the feel of the gull wings more than the flat when I run mod on clay and on carpet. The only time that I use the flat arms is when I ran 17.5 clay. Also, if there is a chance you are running carpet you will need the gear diff as the traction is too high for the ball diff to handle.

I too loved the gull arms on the b5m. But after many hours on the new car the flat arms fit my driving style better. But as you said it’s all part of tuning. And to be expected. Good luck an hope you enjoy the new ride!

I want to switch to 3x1.4mm pistons up front for a Munday type setup
Anyone try the PSM pistons? https://www.amainhobbies.com/psm-b6-...m01787/p612576 ...or just get flat ASC91628 ...or a bevel edge SHL1026 (which I assume provides faster compression and rebound but still less than a full on taper) |

Add one more to your list :P Those do look interesting... I assume they would act similar to a one sided taper piston, depending on which way the taper faces (typically down to allow quicker rebound) but adjustable ! |
