sorta funny and ironic, hobbytown where i race. offroad buggies are run on astro turf, and the oval cars are run on untreated dirt.....technically...off road dirt oval

have you tried adjusting the rear toe at all? Maybe half a degree less to start?

I have to say I have been pretty impressed with these Yokomo springs for carpet that were recommended. I think dropping 50cst more and the car will be close to dialed on the track. Walking the carpet surface here the area I thought was bumpy sure enough has like a rough layer underneath it, almost feels like metal grates that I can feel through the carpet.

Bit more suspension action there (I went down already once) and it was definitely an improvement. The new layout I think made it more noticeable too.

I think the next thing I want to look at is adding a fan but vehicle speed wise even without, probably one of the fastest around the track with no weird motor temp issues.

Well I only saw 1 kit so there will be a lot of disappointed racers out there.

One of my tracks has the Chili Bowl type dirt with the wood chips.
The other one is highbite clay, so eletrons and chainlinks work.

I give up..

It's like listening to Jack Handy. But less funny.

I let the engineers figure this stuff out. All I know is that I added these for more aggressive steering on our tight layouts at Dirt Heaven and they worked. Dave, I would say they're an option for you right now. Assuming you'll get the lay down at some point, they might then be too much for the more open corners Trackside usually has.

Thanks. I bet Trackside has those, or the AE alloy +1 versions. I was thinking they might help.

I'm having a salad for lunch.

4 degrees of toe is a lot. Kit setting is 3 and is what works 95% of the time. Most don't ever go past 3.5, so I would definitely reduce rear toe and you should find some of that missing steering.

Gotcha. I'll go back to 3 toe and tune from there. I've been struggling lately at our track with rear traction but I'm running a 7.5 motor. A lot of the guys are running stiffer oil than me and having no issues so it's most likely pill setup.

4 gear trans

Has anyone here tried the 4 gear trans yet? Just wondering about setup options for outdoor track pretty low traction

Here's mine... liking it so far for indoor clay.

Yea i will post it, however, i dont remember what I had but I have since made changes to the set up and have not been back. Changes I made that will probably give me the steering i'm looking for are the hubs forward. I would also like to get a front spindle spacer kit to bring the axle height up one. I will post once i get to the track and return with a summary.

I ran the Ray Munday 4 gear set up all winter. It was fine except for all of the extra weight he adds. I only run a 13.5 or 17.5.
